We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Damian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
It makes me so happy when I deliver my products to the customer, its like Christmas! Its so satisfying creating a beautiful product that reflects their brand that they are proud to give to employees or clients. 43% of people will hang onto a promotional product because it fits their style or personality.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Swag Promo is a woman-owned small business in Downtown Los Angeles. With more than 35 years of experience combined, we believe in continuous transformation and innovation. Why do we love this business? Well of course there’s all the amazing SWAG that we get to enjoy, but, seriously, it is the awesome people we get to work with every day. We help define the soul behind your brand with purpose-driven products and engaging packaging. With just the right design elements and creativity, we help you craft a story and build an emotional connection with your audience. We believe the details transform into amazing experiences. There is nothing more satisfying than being able to deliver such fun stuff.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a resident of DT, Pre COVID it would be a total walking tour of the DT area. The Broad is an absolute must! Grand Central Market ( too many restaurants to list) , Bradbury Building, Grand Park, The roof at City Hall, Badmaash Indian, a drink and the view from Perch, the beautiful architecture in the Historic Core and so much more. I moved from Altadena to Downtown 10 years ago and love so many things about it. Everything is within walking distance, and so convenient to so many other places with the train!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly? I would have to give a shout out to my previous employer for firing me! I had clients tell me for years to start my own business but I felt safe and secure in the job I had held for 20 years and was fearful of the risk involved. If it wasn’t for being forced into feeling uncomfortable, I would have never done it. Being uncomfortable made me realize there was no other option but to make it work and it’s been nothing but hard work and tons of fun ever since.
