We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Jane Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna Jane, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I am naturally a sort of workaholic. Over the years I have learned how to take time for myself and my health, both spiritually and physically, because I think that is very important. Health takes number one priority and balance is key. Although finding balance is always a work in progress, this past year has forced me to slow down and focus on what matters.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One thing I always stand by is that in whatever I do, I want it to be genuine and true to me. Lately I’ve had the chance to really hunker down and work work work, which includes writing a ton and focusing in on my craft. I have some music and films coming out that I’ve worked really hard on, and am incredibly excited to share with the world in the near future. Ultimately the biggest lesson to learn is that, there is always more to learn. Become a sponge for knowledge, and it will follow. No matter any hardships, I’m the kind of person to focus on leveling up and always striving for that next goal.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since Los Angeles has been in lockdown, we would try to search for local businesses to pick up food from, and enjoy it in the fresh outdoors! I am a big fan of Mediterranean and Mexican food and luckily there are many options to indulge where I live. I love to hike and explore. My favorite thing to do is search for different trails and improve my fitness while taking whoever is willing along with me! If Covid wasn’t a factor, we would drive down to DTLA and relish in the exquisite ambiance of Bottega Louie. I adore thrift shopping, we can find some unique upscale pieces in LA.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A really important mentor for me has been my acting coach, Lauren Patrice Nadler. The way she has helped me as an actress and assisted me in getting in touch with myself as an artist has truly been life changing.
