We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, how do you think about risk?
I don’t think great things come when you’re comfortable, and some of the best things I’ve ever done were things I was terrified of. I have spent years worrying about perfection but it’s held me back from being as creative as I would like to be. You never want to look back at your life and realize you missed out on things because you were being careful. Art isn’t about perfection, it’s about vulnerability and honesty. It’s a risk putting your innermost thoughts out for billions of people to hear, but it’s also extremely rewarding.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a singer/songwriter. I have an extensive musical background from my family and schooling. Music is a big part of who I am, not just something I enjoy.

I just released a single called “Only”. You can find it here:

I think the biggest challenge has been realizing that things aren’t going to just happen. Success in any industry takes dedication, eagerness to learn more and constant productivity. Life has a funny way of throwing problems at you, but I had to shift my priorities to make sure I really stay on track to reach my goals.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
If I’m not doing what truly makes me happy, any job or any relationship will never fulfill me. And waiting for something to be “perfect” may mean that i’ll never release anything.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I make sure that everything I write is true and something I’ve been through. I want people to be able to relate to me and my music.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LA has so many places to discover, I am fortunate to have lived here most of my life. Here are some of my favorite spots!

– Runyon canyon
– Bronson canyon
– Hollywood reservoir
– Catch
– Nobu
– Osteria la Buca
– Tocaya Organica

Picnic at the Griffith Park Observatory
Live music jams
Flower market DTLA

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Hannah Abu-eideh, Rick Feuer, Dustin Morgan, Amy Ike, Sophia Germano, Annaliese Hearns

There are so many creatives in LA, but I get the privilege of working with a team that I consider family. They’re a group of artists that I trust implicitly that I’ve received nothing but support and encouragement from. We need more artists helping artists.
