We had the good fortune of connecting with AnnaNoel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi AnnaNoel, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Growing up I was interested in anything and everything. I played almost every sport in the book, did every artistic thing out there, and even had a blackbelt in martial arts, but constantly struggled with not finding my own passion to fully succeed in. When I entered middle school, I was hit with the hardest time in my life. I was bullied every single day for 3 years, which resulted in being diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and years to come of physical health issues. I was forced to stop playing sports due to these health issues and lost all interest in creative outlets because of my depression. However, on the road to recovery, I realized my creative outlets were my therapy. I dove deep back into music, my songwriting notebook became my therapist, and I started competing in pageants in order to help others struggling with similar things. I lived out my pageant career with 4 years as a semi-finalist in Miss California Teen USA, and numerous preliminary titles, one being Miss Beverly Hills Teen USA. Throughout my pageant career I found my love for modeling. Not just modeling, but creating; creating stories, moments, and memories. One of my favorite photoshoots was one I did very recently, I wanted to express emotion through a beauty shot with a pop of color. Without a makeup artist on set, I decided to throw on some bright blue eyeshadow, and the photographer, Nicole, found a bright blue yoga mat and hung it up as a backdrop. The end result came out beautifully and proves that you do not need the most expensive or high-end items in order to make an image come out incredibly. Photoshoots like this keep me excited and passionate about my creative career and where it is headed. Anyone dealing with mental/physical/emotional health issues I highly encourage you to try finding a creative outlet, as it helped me immensely.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
( I covered these topics in the first question )

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I absolutely love Los Angeles! There are so many incredible places to go, however, the beach is always my favorite! I recently discovered this gem in Malibu called Paradise Cove. It is a beautiful beach with private parking and they have a super cute cafe and lounge chairs to have the most relaxing beach day! One of my other favorite things to do is something my friends and I call “sushi and sunset.” We go to the tastiest sushi spot, Fuguya Sushi in North Hollywood, and pick up some rolls to go, then head over to Malibu and set up our little picnic while watching the sunset! Talk about relaxing!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shoutout to my parents for always supporting and uplifting me and my career. Also a huge shoutout to Nicole Christine, the amazing photographer I mentioned! (@nicolefreitagphoto)
