We had the good fortune of connecting with Anya Nicolodi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anya, how do you define success?
My definition of success would definitely be consistency and happiness. I don’t necessarily place my self worth in career as I find it to put me in a sort of toxic mind set sometimes; however, I think to reach one’s goals you have to be consistent and in my opinion at least 1% better every day. Lack of action was the bane of my existence and didn’t take me very far, as soon as I created a system that worked for me, I felt closer to reaching my goals.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I still have so many places I’d like to go with my career, but I think what I’m
Most excited and proud about is my unwavering love for health and learning about how to reach optimal homeostasis in the body- from many different cultures, not just from Western culture. I adore creating content and I feel blessed to finally be in a place where I feel like Ive gotten the groove of things. I started just posting myself on social media years ago and have slowly built a following and relationships with all sorts of brands. My main focus is lifestyle, highlighting health and tips and tricks for women of all ages to feel their best. I work with beauty and fashion brands as well and that helps me to express that other creative side of myself. I’m still figuring out how to really blend my passions together seamlessly. A huge lesson I’ve learned is that it’s okay not to be okay, it’s okay to take a break. Ive also realized that it’s also okay to create all sorts of styles of content, not just one. What always gave me anxiety in high school was the thought of having to choose ONE path, ONE career. In working with a multitude of different brands via my social media, I’ve learned that the type of content I can create is so vast. It’s freeing to have that space to just be and flow, but it took a lot of editing, consistency and rejection to get there and I’m still growing and learning!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this question. I feel like when people think of Los Angeles they think of the main Tourist attractions or trendy things on TikTok. I grew up near Malibu in Topanga Canyon. It’s my magical little safe haven and the people are just so humble and kind so I’d start there. We’d start day one with a coffee and snack at cafe Mimosa then I’d take them to Red Rock Canyon for a hike with the prettiest view and fossils to find along the way. I’m obsessed with Topanga Living Cafe and Endless color pizza, both are organic it just depends if you’re in the mood for smoothies or hard kombucha. After hike and lunch I’d say we go cold plunge in the ocean before we get ready to go out to a few bars and maybe even a comedy show in Venice! Lastly I think that Charmelee hike in deep Malibu is one of the most beautiful ones in Los Angeles.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The book the Surrender Expirement by Michael Singer definitely threw me into the mind set of detachment which then helped me focus more on the baby steps and consistency every day, as opposed to letting my ADHD get the best of me and becoming paralyzed at the idea of not being able to do or accomplish all that I wish to at once. I give a shoutout to my friends and family that have supported myself and my unique path despite there being a lack of understanding at times. I recognize that not everyone has a support system so to the people that know who you are, I am eternally grateful for you!
