We had the good fortune of connecting with Brionne Davis (Davel) and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brionne, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have been blessed with an incredible journey in both life and career. When I decided, this past year, to take an elevated step in the direction of generosity and helping others, I had no idea what the mechanic of that step would be- I was just committed to ‘creating global unity’ -as that is part of my vision statement. I was open to possibilities and when I acknowledged the differences between “passion” and “gifts” this supported the decision to launch my production company. ( Brionne Davis Productions llc ) the ink is not yet dry on the legal docs. The production company serves as an umbrella to all the creative ideas that I want to execute.
My passion is storytelling. It always has been. I love collaboration, creativity, and the endless potential of magic kinetically existing between concept and execution of a play, film, tv show, etc. To imagine a thing in its pre-tangible form and then to see it realized in our 3d world is so powerful and God-like to me. That is my passion. We can also use this to write our own life script. You are the author of what you want, and you are responsible for creating the life you desire. That’s full-on RESPONSIBILITY and LEADERSHIP.
My gifts are many. They live between the worlds of passion and practicality. A gift is generally found in that space between where you are and what is needed in the world. I call it “THE GAP”. Many could argue that there is no shortage of great actors or great directors or even great writers. However, the world could always use more healthy leadership and inspiring figures to empower continued transformation in the world. The launch of my company rides parallel with the launch of my first fully realized interview series UNLEASH YOUR CREATIVE BEAST- How to Boldly Create The life and Career That You Want”. In this series, I bring together over 20 inspiring figures that have created a huge impact in the world. Many of whom are directors, producers, actors, etc… that I have worked with and or admire. The purpose is to encourage a fully creative life experience in all aspects. Get access to the show here. https://www.
I strongly believe that everything and anything is possible 100%. I live by that truth. And with that mantra, I want to inspire others to believe this as well. I would not claim this as truth had I not lived it, and continue to live it daily. I know and have proven that; if your goals, dreams, desires, are all in alignment with service and generosity the only thing in our way is the writer… (YOU) … you get to write the next chapters of your life. And that is one of the things I teach and mentor. I’m committed to creating global unity through the mechanisms of storytelling, mentorship, and whatever other mechanic may appear to move toward that endeavor. After shooting EMBRACE OF THE SERPENT in the Colombian Amazon Jungle (Oscar Nominated Best Foreign Language film) I knew that I was about to go on another elevated journey. This journey is in service to that cause and belief as KARAMAKATE the indigenous shaman says in the film “It is a dream… you must follow it” and now I empower others to do the same.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First of all, we’d hang out in my yard. Covid has offered us an incredible opportunity to work from home and therefore cultivate our yard into a vibrant zen retreat; fire pits, hot tub, organic garden, and music wafting through the air upon request (thank you, Alexa). Most of the “grub” would be grilled and perhaps one evening we’d head over to Links N Hops in Atwater Village (Incredible food and service). After a couple of days, we’d venture up to Carpinteria state park and camp on the beach for another few days, enjoying the scene from our Luna Camper (currently parked in our yard). While there we’d take a mini day trip into Ojai California or head down to Ventura and check out the Thrift Stores. If there were time left we’d venture of to Venice Beach and hang out on Abbot Kinney Blvd. I’d finalize the adventure back at our home in Glendale and throw a big Mimosa Brunch for all the amazing people in my life. Acoustic guitar around the fire pit and dancing in the yard. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This is a tough one. There are so many empowering figures in my life. Obviously, my mother Celia Davis for whom none of this would be possible. Then, of course, my husband, Charles Davel. I have been blessed with an incredible assortment of influences in my life. Over the past two years going through Leadership Training with Heart Core Leadership and then coaching inside their program has elevated and transformed so much in my life and perspective. As I contemplate the priceless value of my support group, I could not possibly name just one figure. Here are a few that readily come to mind. Anthony Gilardi, Jason Gurvitz, Ciudad Lunar Productions, PeterMackler, and my high school theater teacher Jayna Shull. Of course my agents and managers Eric Skinner and the Brave Artists Management team and Blair Taylor & Shannon O’Dowd at Taylor Talent Services. Finally, my assistant Arlene Minor, and production team Cosette Benski and Isaac Speare.
