We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Gabrielian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brooke, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Ever since I was a young girl I loved crystals and jewelry. I had an ever growing rock collection starting at about 7 years old. I would always go to rock shops, as many as I could find. I would get my new crystals and try to incorporate them into the jewelry I would wear. But as I got older I was frustrated about how all my jewelry pieces would tarnish and would not hold up with my active lifestyle. I tried to find other gemstone necklaces that fit my dainty style but I could never find affordable gemstone jewelry that was quality. Then one day I went to my first gem fair. This wasn’t a local rock shop or a small crystal collection, it was big. It was one of the largest rock shows I had ever been too. There were hundreds of booths of crystals and beads and I was inspired. Thats where it clicked. My love for crystals alongside my love for jewelry, that is where I knew I wanted to blend the two. I didn’t want to look for jewelry anymore, I wanted to make it. I wanted to make affordable quality gemstone jewelry that would hold up. I started Falling for Dainty in May of 2018. I started to incorporate crystals into necklaces and before I knew it I had my own designs and started to sell them.

What sets my jewelry shop apart is the quality and care that goes into every piece. I not only design the jewelry, the packaging, the marketing, but I hand make every single necklace, earring, or bracelet. The jewelry itself is all made with ethically sourced crystals from around the entire world. The chains offered are 18k Gold Filled & .925 Sterling Silver. This means none of our pieces tarnish. They are not plated which means you can wear them in the water, and are completely safe for daily wear. They were MADE for every day wear! To live in and love always is what Falling for Dainty is about. Quality, dainty pieces that mean something to you and were made just for you. Each stone is natural and unique which means each piece is one of a kind. I hand pick all the crystals and spend time making sure each order is above the customer’s expectations. All of this makes me so proud to have started FFD. Quality crystal jewelry at an affordable price. I got to where I am professionally by taking everything one day at a time. Making my todo list and completing it every single day. Discipline to help me stay on track and get done what I need to. It doesn’t happen over night it takes hard work and dedication. I never thought FFD would have turned into something so special, and if I look back and see it now, I got to where I am by taking small steps. If you think about everything you have to do all at once it becomes so much, but taking it slow and thinking things out, having a plan, has always helped me. If I had one lesson I have learned along the way is that customer service is SO important. I always get back to a customer within 24hrs. Word of mouth is the most powerful sales tool and it’s the main reason I have so much respect for my customers and want them happy!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Sonoma County, the beautiful wine city. I myself enjoy history, art, and nature so of course If my friend was in town the first stop I would take her would be to Armstrong Woods. The forest and the age old Redwood trees are magnificent and a site to see. I’d grab a bite to eat at one of my favorite places for lunch in Santa Rosa, East West Cafe. Day 2 would be about history, I would take her wine tasting at the beautiful Castello de Amorosa in Calistoga. Taking the scenic route and admiring all of the green vineyards. Dinner would be Italian, at one of my favorites, Lococo’s Cucina Rustica. Before she left she would have to check out Bodega Bay, and one of my favorite places for clam chowder, the fishetarian market!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If anyone deserves recognition for where I am today, it is a special person, someone I call my best friend, and my soulmate, but he goes by Cameron Foster. We have been dating since 2009 and met when I was 11 years old. Since that day he has supported me in what ever I wanted to do. Crystals are my passion, not his, but he goes with me to every rock show and rock shop I can find. He helps me with my shop and always helps in whatever way he can. I’m so thankful to have such a caring & giving partner!
