We had the good fortune of connecting with Claunesha Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Claunesha, how does your business help the community?
We always act like the person we think we are. We are all held hostage to our thought life and we always move in the direction of our most dominant thought. While our emotions fiercely drive us, they are only a byproduct of our thinking, not of our circumstances. It is what we pay attention to that comes to live in us as our thought life.
TORCHLA is a business that ultimately has to do with managing your thought life. Particularly, your daily thought life. Yes, beautifully scented, eco friendly, candles are sold. But, they are only the vehicle for one to deliberately, intentionally and purposefully shift their thinking. To daily shift their thinking to only Thoughts Of Rich Choices And Habits.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Being a candle maker is my safe place. I can express my emotions, I can play, and I can connect with people throughout all walks of life. I am most proud that I can make something that can change the way people feel almost immediately.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d say, the itinerary would have to include some fun nature walks in sunshine LA followed by some retail therapy. We would also have to go to a sunset dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Malibu overlooking the ocean because I love getting dolled up for a perfect night out with friends!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out to my mom, the single women who carried me on her hip with such persistence to show me what faith and hard work looks like. I am the fruit of your labor. I am so grateful for you.
