We had the good fortune of connecting with Corbin Pitts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Corbin, why did you pursue a creative career?
Well, I started off super young so it wasn’t something where I methodically started doing it while planning out a career path. It was a natural subconscious thing that took place over a number of years. It started out honestly as a hobby but then soon after I was signed to an agency and doing 30-40 performances a month at a professional theater. So, I didn’t necessarily seek out this life or career, it found me. Some kids start to play baseball or soccer when they are 3 or 4 years old and if they are remotely any good at it, they continue to do it throughout their childhood. They didn’t say when they were 3 years old, “I want to play baseball for the next 14 years!” It was just something that happened because it was natural. Same thing goes for acting and the entertainment industry for me. I didn’t think of it as this whole different thing, it was just my version of a kid playing sports.

What should our readers know about your business?
When I was 11 years old, I founded my production company, Heroe Productions Entertainment LLC. We just celebrated our 6 year anniversary. From 2017-2023, I have made music videos, documentaries, 10 short films (award-winning), hosted cocktail events, private screenings, a drive-in screening, and world premieres at sold-out theaters. I am currently in development for my first feature film. The whole point behind creating this company was to prove that kids are capable of telling impactful/meaningful stories. We have a brand called, “FILMS MADE BY YOUTH” which goes along with our mission. We have grown to be the largest youth lead film studio here in Central Arkansas.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, Arkansas in my opinion is home to some of the best barbecue in America. My favorite soul food restaurant is a mom and pop spot called, Lendsey’s Hospitality House in North Little Rock. I grew up going there and the owners are like family to me. Everything is homemade from their fresh fried chicken to steamy hot ribs to their warm strawberry cake. Lendsey’s isn’t too far out from the heart of North Little Rock which is the Argenta Arts District. My first community theater production I was apart of was at Argenta Community Theater. I grew up at the theater and have done over a dozen productions there. The district is also filled with local cuisine from bars that are open till 4am to a 5-star Italian restaurant. Lastly, another spot I would take that friend to is the Old Mill which was featured in Gone With The Wind in 1939. I could list a dozen other places but there’s too many to list.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents are two of my biggest supporters and I owe my life to them. They have continued to support me/stick with me through everything and I can’t thank them enough. I also want to thank my sister for being my partner in crime, we grew up in the industry together and always have had each other to lean on.

A mentor of mine that I met when I was very young that has had a profound impact on me and everything I’ve done is Jeff Nichols, the founder of Arkansas Cinema Society; also recently wrote and directed, “The Bikeriders,” with Austin Butler and Tom Hardy. Daniel Campbell is another mentor of mine that is just a joy to work with and such a talented man. He was heavily involved with helping me get to the finish line with my first short-feature I made when I was 15 years old called, “Salad Days.”

When I first walked on a film set back in 2012, I met this man named, Warren McCullough. He was my co-star in the short film we were working on and it blossomed into a beautiful friendship. He immediately took me under his wing and he was really the guy that helped me get to where I am today. He has done SO MUCH for me, my family, and everyone I know.

Lastly, I would like to thank my agents over at DDO Kids in NYC, Chicago, and LA, my management team, Stagecoach, and of course The Agency here in Central Arkansas.
