We had the good fortune of connecting with Cory Bennett anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cory, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor to my success is my ability to make the most of every moment. Spreading love and positivity has help me to create art on a much deeper level! Be creative has elevated my very existence! It pushing me to interact with everything around me! It helps me to see through childish eyes and play with a curious mind! Art is my daily therapy. My process allows me to use my hand and senses to create buetuful portraits. I enjoy collecting roadmaps sheet music vintage news articles. I use them in the backgrounds of my paintings to diary my life and where I’ve been. I then take iconic personas and bring them to life through spraypaint!
If it were not for art I would lack the platform to bring up conversations worth having.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is vibrant and uplifting! From a far you see a buetiful portrait but as you get closer you begin to see lots of details that define the portrait. Giving depth and meaning that you can’t see from a far! I choose to paint portraits of people that have used their voices for good. I choose to spread a message of positivity a gratitude. I use my art to teach my kids about the importance of role models and being active in the community.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I always head to palos verdes and San Pedro! Stop by the busy bee for a sandwich and head up to the Korean bell! After a stop at the sunken city to do a little spray painting is head over to terrinea for cocktails with a view of Catalina island
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to say my wife Nicole and my 2 kids Evalyn and Bennett. They all love creating with me in the studio! Evalyn and Bennett love to splash paint and get really messy! The help me to push through and never forget that art is therapy. The simple act of making a mess really helps me smile and remember life is to short not to have fun!
