Meet Courtney Williams | Author & Digital Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I honestly believe taking a risk can be the best thing you can do for yourself. I’ve taken a lot, especially in the last few years. Being from a small town in Louisiana it would’ve been very easy to put myself in a box. I didn’t know how much life was outside of the boundaries I was used to. In 2021 after college I moved to Atlanta. In 2023 I moved to Los Angeles. The things that I’ve experienced because of those 2 major risks have been incredible. If there’s ever a time where I have a choice of taking a risk or not, I will always take it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a content creator and author. This year I published my first book called The Dream Girl Paradigm. Being a creative is not easy at all. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes that people don’t know about. I think what sets me apart from others is my ability to operate from a place of authenticity. I’m myself and that’s all I’ve ever wanted to be. My book is a mental health based guide to self love and the reason I wrote it was because of my own struggles with mental health in the past. I want to advocate for others going through the same thing. It took a long time for me to get to this place of self acceptance. I feel like it was always there I just had to really find it— find myself. I’m excited to continue to create things that I’m proud of, in hopes to inspire others just like me.
Aside from that I create content, working mostly with beauty brands and I’ve actually been practicing curating mixes to start dj’ing in LA! Music has always been a passion of mine and I’m excited to tap into that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I definitely love to have fun in West Hollywood. Apt 200 is my go-to club. I love spending time in Silver Lake at the flea market. Echo Park Lake is really cool too. Malibu has the best beaches, specifically Point Dume. I love to go hiking, the Dearing Trail in Studio City has the best views. For food you have to try Casaléna in Woodland Hills or Blue Daisy Cafe on Melrose. Going to The Grove at night is one of my favorite things. Honestly, LA is just so much fun there’s not really a chance to get bored or run out of things to do.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give a shoutout to my family. They’ve uplifted me in so many ways throughout my life’s journey. We all go through hardships, but having a support system like mine helps me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve been through so much and especially as a creative we can be very hard on ourselves. My family is right there by my side, always. My sister Brittany specifically is the ultimate entrepreneur. She’s a beauty creator who’s amassed a pretty large following and the example she’s set has been my favorite. I look up to her in so many ways.
Another very special shoutout to God.
