Meet Daze DaVinci | Artist – Producer – Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daze DaVinci and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daze, what inspires you?
Everybody, First i want to thank you guys for reaching out. These have been strange times and energy is very important, positivity is vital, and inspiration is all around us. Im inspired by all the people who keep up the energy, keep up the faith, keep up the hustle, and keep up the work in the hardest of times. Great artists and creators who do it for the art. People giving back without asking for praise, the musicians, actors, artists, and everybody else who has had to adapt to the lockdowns and pandemic, and all the talented individuals who i have the pleasure of building with.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
You know i think the best thing about this interview and what i love most aside from the questions is the timing and how much things can change in a year, and big blessings to you guys for providing this platform – I did something with VOYAGE, before COVID, and LOCKDOWNS, last year, so many beautiful concepts, and manifestations, songs, videos, and plans, all these wonderful ideas and things ready to be set in motion literally stopped and i think a moment in time that was big for all of us, the world coming to a halt. Empty streets, and apocalyptic scenarios, in this fast pace, constantly moving, grinding, hustling, next dollar, next everything, don’t sleep work harder lifestyle, i think this lockdown was a refresher, and reset for a lot of us artists and musicians. Because we had no idea what the f**k to do? Imagine the transition from preparing setting up tours, traveling, releasing music, an entire different frequency of world trajectory, we all dealt with it on a level, and with that separation of people from each other it really showed me just how connected we are. How valuable peoples energies and environments are in the process of anything! My music and my entire creative spirit was never at HOME. I was rarely ever at home, right, now everything i do is in my own place, in my own time, and the way i want. its beauty in change through hardship and adaptation and now i have been working on cultivating and creating things the way i want, alongside working with my wife who is one of the best classical pianistas in the world, which is a complete 360 from any of my visions or plans from last year. Not to mention that i even have a wife, which is brand new vibe, and we have been a creative force, i have always been a fan of music on all degrees but now her knowledge of classical music and piano in general has taken things and with the build of my home studio, learning how to become an engineer, learning all the skills, spending the time, overcoming the obstacles, adapting live piano to performances and showing her my culture and my music, growing, and embracing this strange change and everything else in between, The process of doing everything ALONE was a STRUGGLE, came with a whole lot of RESISTANCE, but became a BLESSING. My music is just that its MUSIC, with this year I’m going to be releasing everything, and anybody who knows me, knows what that means, Ive been working on a mixture of rap, oldies samples, hip hop, classical music, poetry, R&B, high frequency stuff, mastering and finishing up all the beautiful records that didn’t see the light in 2020, and many years before and fully developing and polishing everything. Im dropping an album called ‘ABUNDANCE’, a few mixtapes, singles ,videos, guest features and even guest production on some big things, and just playing around and having fun and doing my best to keep the culture alive and good music flowing! Lots of great people have come by the home studio and im excited for everything that the future holds. Obstacles and roadblocks sometimes lead us towards a path we never thought was in our cards, our downfalls and failures are sometimes are biggest blessings!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hard question to ask now; Whatevers open? HAHA I live by the BEACH so lets go with that, Nothing like the Pacific Ocean, Thats the LA native go 2 no matter what season it is lol
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
LOVE IT, I think gratitude and mentorship is honestly some of the most valuable skills and assets towards having healthy habits and building personal success. Honestly, i have so many beautiful and inspirational people in my life and in these times of separation and isolation i just wanna wish everybody a healthy, fruitful, and abundant year. My mother, my wife, and my friends, off top, People who deserve recognition and mentors of mine; Mario Padilla an old professor who motivated me and cultivated my writing, poetry, and allowed a young energy to really grow and have an environment to experiment with performing poetry and music in a classroom environment. That was really big for me, that was when i was young and you really need that, someone to just say hey do what you want its awesome, and provide constructive critique, it took my writing and music that much further and helped me develop writing habits and things i do to this very day. Another big one is someone who has become a member of the family a mentor, engineer, music coach, legend, Tyronne Calsadillas, @backhouzestudiotaco – a person who took me into the studio young, gave me a chance, opportunity, molded me, developed my talent, taught me the ins and outs of studio recording and creating a sound / voice, and because of him i have now taken my own personal production and music to a whole other dimension. Big shoutouts to @ayosk3tch for showing us that droughts don’t exist, Smiley Jonez of @burningguitars for constantly pushing the limits of fashion and culture and teaching me my own POWER! @trellfilms for finally releasing the WUTANG video and making the hottest comeback since DaVinci dropped this interview. HAHA. and my beautiful wife @maryna.kysla for being my musical muse and helping me cultivate from rap, hip hop, poetry, and vocal recording into becoming an all around MUSICIAN. LOVE.
