We had the good fortune of connecting with Dolleesi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dolleesi, what inspires you?
To be honest there are so many things I am inspired by, that I don’t know actually where I should start from. In my opinion everything starts from your environment. A major role for an unlocked mind in everything that you do are the people that you are surrounded by. It is really important to have people next to you who make you feel good about yourself and what you have accomplished so far. Though toxic relationships have been an inspiration for one of my original songs “Independently Me”, we should stay away from people who don’t love us.Inspiration is on everything that we see , we feel, we smell and we touch. We first have our health, and health includes mental. So open your minds and choose wisely for a better working mindset. I could say that the thing that I enjoy the most in my job and inspires me is traveling. Every time that I am on a tour I keep in my mind the best moments of it, trying to bring the strong emotions down to a paper. When I visit a new place and I meet new people, I get inspired by their stories, their routine and their life in a different culture. At this point I would like to mention that for one of my upcoming songs, my inspiration was my country and my hometown. Summer in Greece, island vibes and sunset images on my head led to the song “Escape”, that I am super excited to share with you.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Thank you guys for your kind words, and thanks to every fan and supporter, I can be myself and I can express myself through my music. People’s love and support for an artist’s creation is everything. Love makes you a better version of yourself and with that as my inspiration, I’m releasing in June my new single “Escape”, and I hope it will make you escape for real. It’s a pop song with summer vibes, I hope you enjoy it. I usually compose my original music but I also enjoy recording vocals for movies or videos. Recently, I recorded the soundtrack of a famous Japanese video game in LAFX Recording Studio, since I have been living here for the past year.
I enjoy creating pop and r&b music or performing covers and my original songs in an acoustic version with my guitar and piano. I am sharing my art content on my social media accounts. On my career path so far, I have worked with verified artists from around the world and I have met incredible professionals that I had the joy to share a stage with, as on one of my favorite performance, in 2018, at Agganis in Boston, when I had the honor to perform in front of thousands of people. A live concert that I’ll always remember. Since then I have performed as a professional singer in many concerts and events in L.A. , after my first single release in 2019 called Independently Me, which can be found on every music platform. Through my experiences so far I have obtained only positive elements and I will go on with these. Those elements have formed my personality and I will keep sharing my message with my art as every person should do and feel free to create.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First of all we would go for a fast food meal at an original American dinner on our way from the airport, to chill and as I imagine to stop screaming from excitement. Then we would go for a walk on the beach, at Santa Monica to enjoy the beautiful sunset and catch up. Day one I would like to give my friend the time to adapt and relax, so I would prepare a pajama movie night home with Chinese food. The days after have a mode mixed with adrenaline, surprising flavors and unforgettable visits. We would do the Hollywood sign hike and a picnic at the Lake Hollywood Park. Next, it would follow a ride at the Beverly Hills, to observe the view from the palm trees and take some photos to capture the moment. From our trip we wouldn’t miss a visit to Disneyland Park and Hollywood walk of Fame to buy some souvenirs and check all about Hollywood. Going downtown it’s worth it to watch the Disney Concert Hall next to the Board museum. In the evening time we would look at the Urban lights at the LA museum of Art, in such an interesting neighborhood. Skipping into our menu choices I would take my friend to eat at Bea Bea’s restaurant ordering specifically the Pooh’s Sunrise, soo tasty! Also one of my favorite places to dine out with a magnificent view of Marina del Rey and a fireplace in front of you is the Cheesecake Factory in Venice. Referring to food we should definitely try “All you can eat” in a Korean BBQ just a few miles next to the Art District, a wonderful boulevard for art lovers. Nighttime we would go out for a drink at a cocktail bar on a terrace in West Hollywood to have a blast from the top. In an r&b mood, we would make a reservation at a club in Studio city or Avalon in case we are downtown. Last day if we don’t suffer from a hangover, we must hit the Mall and do all the last minute shopping on a relaxed day to close our trip talking and laughing with some sushi and wine. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wish I could name every single person who helped me make my dream come true, but unfortunately I can’t. First I would like to mention the people who were there for me through the hardest parts of this path cause they deserve the biggest shoutout. All I am today and everything I have achieved is thanks to my friends and my family, my gang even at long distance. Without their love and support, nothing would have ever even started. They have been the strongest links of my life chain. They gave me their secret recipe for happiness when they taught me love and humanity, respect and patience. Values that held me optimistic on difficult moments. They were next to me holding my hand on moments I was finding myself giving up and I am so grateful to have them in my life. Talking about values and support, I couldn’t forget to thank my teachers, mentors and all the professionals I have worked with that guided me and believed in my music talent, even when I was doubting myself. Special thanks to my teachers from a beloved of mine city, from Boston-who i always admire for making the best for me. Last but not least, I want to dedicate my music career and all the opportunities that showed up, to the people that accepted me the most for who I am and loved my music without judging. To the people who understand art and have feelings. To the people known as fans. So dear stranger, Thank you. You helped me make my dream come true.
