We had the good fortune of connecting with DoloRRes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DoloRRes, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I used to breathe music, every day and every decision was somehow related to my music or my career. i don’t really do that anymore and i am a lot more mentally stable, I actually live my life and enjoy it these days because I was taking a self destructive route with the music and it started affecting a lot of things so yeah had several experiences and now I just balance as much as i can. I try to be as present as possible even in the rare occasions that I’m actually in the studio cos I’m not there very often. I’m off the grind, I prefer happiness, at least for now. I go climbing, I see people, I contact people, I also have had basically nowhere to live in the past 6 month, so that might contribute to the lack of music. But as of late my perspective on life has very much changed, which is exactly what I thought last year, and the year before. hmm…
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I been making music for almost a decade, and I’ve never really known what I’m doing. I rely heavily on my creativity to give me an idea and then mix that with stuff that I like and do it in a way that isn’t too obvious. I’m very good at stealing, I make music gumbo. I have gotten moderately far I think simply because what I make and what I collaborate on is very good, it’s definitely not the marketing tho. I am hyper aware of whatever is going on at all times to the point where i get a sort of tunnel vision, but on the off chance I make a song that nobody else could ever make. And that’s pretty cool.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In which city? L.A or Melbourne? I’m from Rome originally so let’s do there. In a week I’d check out Agustarello, the Ghetto, Forno Campo Dei Fiori, Bar Peru, Bar San Callisto, EUR is cool to walk around in, the GNAM, Macro, MAXXI, the Barberini, All the Churches, the Vatican cos why not, Ostia, Cinema Troisi, Porta Portese, other than that jus walk around n shit, Idk I don’t really leave the city.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m gonna shoutout everyone, everybody has influenced me in some way good or bad, def sum more than others. But I owe %70 of whatever is going on with me to my friends, my girl, family and circustance
Tom Nicholas Lewis, Alex Sneddon, Benjamin Brown
