We had the good fortune of connecting with Eli Prasit and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eli, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that the bigger a risk is, the more you will be able to learn from it. I like to phrase my risks as “leaps of faith” because I believe that in those moments when you are deciding between staying stagnant or progressing, then progression will always win. I’ve taken many risks for example, I took a risk by moving to Los Angeles, California from Houston, Texas. The emotions that come from taking risks such as fear, happiness, and adrenaline are what fuel me each and every time to stand outside my comfort zone. Whether or not the result will always be good, at least you will not sit in regret of never proceeding with that decision.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I specialize mostly in videography and graphic design, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to get my hands on everything that I can, whether that means I’m the one shooting pictures or the one in front of the camera posing. Coming from a city that has so much potential and diving into a field with no prior knowledge, I am mostly proud of the fact that I now make a living doing what I do. Being in this industry, especially living in Los Angeles, I’ve realized that there are endless possibilities and opportunities as long as you’re willing to learn. I just turned 22 and I have already set in mind what goals I want to achieve for future years to come. I’ve learned that when trying to network, building relationships rather than trying to just make a quick “connect” will always benefit in the long run because it’s more fulfilling knowing that there are true supporters out there that truly love who you are beyond just the work you are able to curate. My journey so far has been been filled with more lessons than I can count. Stepping into a creative world, with no degree under my belt has not always been easy. With that being said, I strive everyday to perfect what I do know in my field. My drive to achieve perfection has propelled me in an upward trend of opportunities that have come my way such as shooting and hanging out with some celebrities that I used to watch on television when I was younger. I now have a better understanding of money management and business that I believe I would not have been able to achieve in a regular classroom. If there is one thing I’ve learned is that if you stay true to who you are and remain humble, there is nothing that can stop you from accomplishing what you want to accomplish in life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The first place I would take anyone would be the beach right when sunset is about to hit. There is nothing that beats a Los Angeles Sunset. Of course the nightlife is just as good at places such as the nightclub “Bootsy Bellows” or if you could go to “Two Bit Circus” if you want to enjoy a more laidback arcade with your friends while also enjoying some drinks. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
