We had the good fortune of connecting with Elijah Perkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elijah, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve been deeply invested in music for years since I was a kid. After getting involved with songs as a teenager, it made sense to transition into an artist and pursue a career.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Hi. My name is Elijah Perkins and I go under “Elijvh”. I’m an artist from Southern California who has been making music professionally since 2015. I’ve been passionate about this craft for a long time, being a young kid in Moreno Valley who spent hours listening to artists like Michael Jackson, Santana, 2PAC, RZA, and countless others. It took many years refining my craft but eventually I found myself musically through the advice of my own father. One of my biggest goals was to contribute to hip-hop in a unique way that would inspire a generation. As of this interview, i’m still on that journey growing and learning every day.

The journey, while not being easy, has been fun to experience because I learned to embrace all the highs and lows that come with it. As time goes on, I continue to seek new ways to “break the mold” and I hope to continue doing so while making songs that connect with anyone. I guess you could say I wear my heart on my sleeve because i’m not trying to be perfect. I’m trying to be me.

Being a young man with a relentless dream, I can only hope some others reading this may invest their time on an epic journey with me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite places in the Inland Empire to visit with my friends & family would be:

Heroes in Riverside, CA
Doghaus in Rancho Cucamonga
Worthingtons Bar in Riverside
Oishii Sushi in Moreno Valley
Downtown Riverside in general
M Mountain in Moreno Valley

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a special shoutout to my mother for her never-ending belief in my career, my father who gave me the courage to be myself in music, and my friends / team who continue to manifest our dreams into reality.
