We had the good fortune of connecting with Ian Kersey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ian, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
I define success as a constant journey toward a specific goal with a predetermined executed plan. I have never defined success by an amount of money or recognition but rather by becoming an individual who is able to set a goal and continuously move toward their vision, no matter the outcome. Success to me is becoming a person that is able to turn my ideas into reality and provide value to others with no expectations in return. The most important part of success for me is the quality of the journey towards reaching the desired goal and just having fun with it. Anyone who is progressively improving 1% every day is a success regardless of their financial or social status.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a content creator, entrepreneur, student, and lifelong learner. What sets me apart from others is consistency and creating a purpose to inspire the world. I am most proud of working with people and brands that I was inspired by as a kid including working with Nike, Snapchat, and Pinterest just to name a few. I am very excited about a future collaboration with a huge brand that is coming soon. To get where I am today, it was all about falling in love with the process. Consistency and patience are the most important part of the creative process. The journey hasn’t always been easy but I always focus on having fun with it. I have overcome the challenges by creating a space where I can take time towards my passions with a balance of work and personal life. Along the way one of the most important lessons I have learned is the practice of gratitude. I notice when I am grateful for the abundance currently in my life it opens a space for new opportunities to come. I want the world to know that anyone can do what they are passionate about, it is all about becoming a new version of yourself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city are downtown and going to local shops in the west part of the city. To anyone coming to the city, I would take them to a local restaurant and spend the day thrifting, visiting tourist shops, and enjoying the views.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give special thanks to all of my mentors throughout the years including Aaron Doughty and Bob Proctor for their continuous knowledge and for teaching me how reality works. I want to thank my fellow creatives and entrepreneurs for teaching me how to grow the business and inspiring me daily. Thank you to my mom and nanny for their constant love and support. Special gratitude goes to every creator who has helped me along the journey and continues to collaborate in order to provide value to the world.
