We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabella Mastrodicasa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isabella, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I started Never Settle Media I wanted to create a female-led pool of multi-faceted artists and to implement my consolidated experience in managing storytellers in Hollywood and my knowledge of the entertainment industry with digital platforms. The business and strategic side of social media and influencer marketing has always been intriguing to me, because I truly believe in its potential to connect with the newer generations and with the most progressive technologies. Merging Talent representation with brand endorsements and new digital platforms, as well as more traditional media like film and TV, has been an extremely dynamic and compelling challenge, and through a client-first approach it has led me to work with diverse talented creators who feel fully supported and free to unleash their true potential. I follow every artist I work with and every project I curate very closely, ensuring authenticity and a smooth process for our partners and the highest level of quality for our content.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Never Settle Media encompasses everything I have learnt in the entertainment business throughout my career. It is a management and production company in the digital space that uses a client-first approach and represents creators & global filmmakers who use multiple media to tell their story. We partner with brands, studios, and streamers and we craft our services on their needs while creating short & long term strategies to grow our clients’ value, amplify their opportunities, and guide them towards their goals in the most efficient way. We also develop and produce meaningful stories for film and TV, and I think that what sets us apart is the supportive and protected environment that we cultivate around us, so that everyone can feel free to chase their artistic vision and unleash their full potential. What I love the most about it is that I am able to run the company with the experience I have gathered through the years, but also with the awareness and core principles of leadership that I have always admired and lived by. I am very lucky because I get to work with incredible artists that I am extremely passionate about, I get to confront myself every day with new people, new stories, new realities, and new challenges. Of course the journey has not been easy and there have been many reasons why this new reality has been harder than I imagined, but I absolutely love how this pushes me to become the best version of myself every day.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite place is Malibu, so I would definitely take my best friend to admire some of the most magical sunsets in the Golden Coast. I am a big fan of The Magic Castle, I have been so many times but it never ceases to impress me and it is a must when someone is visiting me from out of town. At night, I love to go see stand up comedy shows so the Laugh Factory or Supernova would definitely be next on the list, as well as a drink at one of the many fascinating LA speakeasies or a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, one of the most fun places there is. Lastly, after an afternoon retrieving vintage vinyls at the Melrose flea market, I would take my friend on a ride on Mulholland Drive under the stars while listening to Fleetwood Mac!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my colleagues at Social Assembly, a collective of managers in the digital space who works in team to create extraordinary opportunities for each other and for their talent. They have been a true asset during and after the launch of my new company, and they inspire me to find the passion and motivation to overcome the many challenges that an entrepreneur faces today. I will also always be thankful to every single person who gave me an opportunity throughout this journey, and to those who took the time to help me move forward with their mentorship and guidance, you know who you are!
