We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isabelle, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
Most people have an opinion about your life, and the most common piece I have heard about mine is, “Do what everyone else is doing because it is working for them”…wrong! My outlook is, you can’t do what others do, because they have already done it. I like to take the time to look inward to figure out what I really have to say and what will make a difference.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I look back on my career I feel like I have only dipped my toes in.I think we all feel like that in some way, especially us artists! Although the pandemic set me back (no touring) I have to say that it was necessary in so many ways. My music is more organic and meaningful than it has ever been, and life’s important things came into perspective. The music industry has aways been tough, because there is so much noise. It is important to me to speak from a true place. I have learned that speaking from an honest place, whether it touches one person or thousands, it is everything.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start out at La Columbe Coffee in Silver Lake, and walk the bike path. Then I would take them to Rolling Greens to buy some amazing flowers. I would end the day at my favorite Restaurant in LA- Manuela (it can’t be beat!)
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
no one can succeed without the help of others. I am so thankful to so many people around me who have done nothing but cheer me on and just be there when I needed them most!
