We had the good fortune of connecting with Jade Woods and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jade, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe that taking risks is an essential part of life and incredibly necessary. If it wasn’t for the fact that I left my comfort zone and became a risk taker, I would not be where I am today. To by honest I would probably still be at a 9-5 job that I hate surrounded by people who couldn’t care to pronounce my last name correctly. Not exactly what I pictured for myself in the long run. I wanted so much more. Making the career jump to being a real estate agent was definitely one of the biggest risks I have taken so far, but it has also been extremely rewarding in the long run.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As of last year I am a full time licensed Realtor. I would have to say that my motivation and my nonstop drive is what sets me apart from others. If I say I will get something done, trust and believe that I will. Being a new agent, I am extremely proud of myself for growing my brand at the rate that I am, and I would have to say I am most excited about meeting people from all walks of life and showing them my authentic self. Now trust me when I say, getting to this point has been far from easy. The first time I took the real estate exam, I failed it by 1%. Was I hurt? Of course, but I used this failure as fire to push even harder to achieve what I had set out to do and I did just that. Fast forward two years and three different jobs later, I looked at my life and realized that career wise I wasn’t making myself happy nor was I progressing at the rate that I knew I could. It was then I decided that I was done working for someone else and I would take everything I had learned about the real estate industry over the years and put it towards building my own brand. If there is anything I want the world to know about my brand, it is that my name is Jade Woods the Realtor and I will never ever give up on what I want.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since we are in a pandemic, some of my usual favorite places to be have been put on hold for now. However, this has led to me discovering a few new things to do and places to eat and enjoy. For starters, there is this Sushi food truck called “Sur Sushi” and I am absolutely in love with it. Not only is the food amazing, but the portions are filling as well. Worth every penny in my opinion! Another fun thing we could do is rent out a Slingshot car for the day, and drive it all around Los Angeles to sight see. If you love adventure and a bit of adrenaline this would be the way to go. Lastly, if the weather allows it, a day at the beach is always something that could be fun to check out if you’re looking for something on the more relaxing side of things.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would have to give a huge shoutout to my fiancé Mike! From day one he has always been extremely supportive in every aspect of my life. He is always there, and will be upfront and honest with me even when I don’t want to hear it. I honestly can’t thank him enough for everything he has done and continues to do.
