We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Dshay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe taking risks are very important when following your dreams. Back in 2017, I quit my job to pursue my career in modeling and acting. I didn’t have much at the time and the only thing that was keeping me afloat was my drive and my faith. It was scary at first, not knowing how I would pay my rent or bills… Well, to be honest, I was even afraid of being rejected by casting companies, but something inside me refused to let fear keep me in my comfort zone.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Helping to change lives is very exciting to me. It’s nice to know that there are others that I inspire in some form in this lifetime. I only believe in doing things that deliver a positive message for the world. As crazy as life seems, it is nice to know that my messages get to those who are meant to receive them. I got to where I am today by trial and error. Of course it was not easy to do everything on my own but when no one else believed in me, I just pushed myself to keep going. I can’t tell you how many sleepless nights and early mornings I had, knowing I had to be on set or go to an audition. The lessons I have learned along the way is to always take time to rest, rejuvenate, and heal. Like my great grandmother use say “Work smart, not hard.” Growing up, I never really knew what she meant by that up until now. One thing I wish for the world to know is love. We are all love and we are all capable of love. If we just allow love to lead us, then we can not go wrong.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For me personally the most interesting things to me is art, music, and nature. If my best friend comes into town, we would definitely have to go to Ortega Falls to explore and see all that nature has to offer. Then we would go to as many beautiful art museums as we can on Melrose to discover new artists and appreciate their work. To top off the night, we would go to a lounge that has beautiful ambient music while we chat and drink our cocktails. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to Aaron A.K.A Image for always being an amazing spiritual mentor as well as an influential and inspirational friend. Also shoutout to my friend Kristy A.K.A TrustYourGlitter for always guiding me through the wilderness. I love you both and wish you both happiness, peace, love, joy, and prosperity.
