Meet Jay Rosa

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Rosa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jay, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
In many ways, I believe that I didn’t choose the artistic/creative career. Truly, I believe it had chosen me. I had begun writing my autobiography, inspired by my best friend & partner Bridget Haddath titled “The 1st 25”. Upon reflection & introspection of the early steps of what morphed & formed my career the signs of the seedlings growth already begun when I was about the age of 2 with my mum playing MTV & Vh1 on the living room television. Thus, as my growth unfolded, it was just one thing after another. My 1st instrument was an accordion, a green and gold one. For some reason, I just had a fascination for the instrument. Then, years into some of my school concerts and particularly at Alberton Kids Academy, I played Slash & my hair was precisely as curly as his. I was the studded rockstar that would come onto the stage & change the dynamic of the setting of the girls that had a tea party into a rock concert, thus my background song being “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC. From that moment on, there were many experiences & like I said, signs from the universe were saying….”Hey, this is for you to do! Do this.” Honestly, I just listened to my young intuition & the unfolding of my journey has truly been a wild roller-coaster ride. Yeah, the universe chose me pretty much.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art to me is my most purest safe space in the world, absolutely allowing me the liberty to just be! Likewise what I love most is the business of the music industry & art industry alike, it is really fun & it is a different kind of product that you are selling & showcasing to your audience/fanbase. Why I say so, there is no pretense, personally I am much like Pink the artist I show all of who I am to my fans the good the beautiful & the interesting, because life isn’t particularly a fairy tale in the beginning in you are creating your world to become the reality you dreamed of becoming your fairy tale, pretty much going through that heros journey. In real time being able to show that growth professionally & personally is quite a treat & having my fans being invested in my journey likewise recieving little nuggets of gold. Inspiration to apply in their own life has been such a beautiful experience conversing with my fans from South America/North America/Europe & Australia 🇦🇺 & of course South Africa too, where my music has grown exceptionally. Top 4 countries for my music brand right now is South Africa, United States, Argentina & United Kingdom. If I were to have focused my awareness on what was easy & what wasn’t, I wouldn’t been creating & living my rockstar dreams honestly. Truly I was & still am razor focused on creating my dream & in the early days particularly in my teens I just stayed course & could not be negotiated with I wanted to be like Slash & Axl, the guys from Metallica…low & behold it brought me to where I am at now. Overcoming the ebbs & flows of who would come along for the journey was interesting too see, because I saw my dream & believed in it, at times it was saddening to see that one band mate didn’t have the same vision or dream & would fall by the wayside & in these moments I just had my role models & one in particular Dave Mustaine the 1st lead guitarist for Metallica & of course pioneer of Megadeth, said, “If the friendship is more important than the success of the band it won’t work”. From an early age I was able to distinguish between what would be to my benefit or not & if I was approached with a crossroads I will easily make the decision in terms of what was important to me & move in that direction to manifest my desired reality, be it in my school grades, sport or music & art. I believe the world should know that my story & my brand is a testament to being a solid rock foundation in one’s own life, believe in yourself & know that believe is the most powerful trait any soul can have because it will definitely create your most wildest imaginations to become your magical desired reality. My favorite brand is Nike, I love keeping it simple & Nike’s slogan says it best…”JUST DO IT”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend is visiting for a week. Currently my best friend is in Las Vegas, but I would say I definitely would love to go to Los Angeles with my bestie. Doing sold out shows for GoldenJRosa at the Greek Theater & at the Hollywood Forum. Once we done with that we are definitely set on seeing the premiere release of Jumanji 3!
Then honestly play tennis, do yoga, probably go to Disney in Orlando too, for the day. Enjoy a French restaurant with cheese, bread & wine for her. Relaxing on the beach front by a 5 star hotel & a spa day. Or being on the production set for Jumanji getting an inside look of how the filming is being done that would be really cool. Aw, I loved this question. Truly that we will enjoy it so much! Hence, Gem💎 & I💚💜 the 1st single of my 2nd album titled “Gem💎 & I💚💜”that released February 1st, 2026!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The growth into this 2nd article print, I will definitely acknowledge my teachers, schools, family & friends in my early years, of course. Likewise role models that I so eagerly embodied from my favorite artists to sports professionals. In recent years one person in particular that has wholely been with me through all is my best friend & partner Bridget Haddath. Our adventures since the inception of us meeting in 2022 truly put alot of views into perspective for us both personally & collectively allowing for growth & healing, stepping into the new book of life that we are writing together! Likewise the album that we had already wrote together in 2024 titled “Gem💎& 🩵🩷I💚💜” due for release in April of 2026.
