We had the good fortune of connecting with Jayy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jayy, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
To me, success comes in many different forms — shaped by values, goals, and personal context. The ones that stand out most to me are achievement, financial stability, and personal fulfillment. Success is accomplishing what you set your mind to and completing what you aspire to achieve. Ultimately, success is what you make of it — anything can be a success depending on the intention, effort, and mindset you bring to it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart is my discipline, presence, and ability to lead with both strength and grace. I don’t just show up creatively — I show up prepared, intentional, and consistent. I take my craft seriously, whether that’s modeling, acting, or building my brand behind the scenes.
I’m most proud of the resilience it took to get here. My journey wasn’t handed to me, and it definitely wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt, redirection, and lessons disguised as setbacks. But every challenge sharpened me. I learned how to pivot, how to stay composed under pressure, and how to keep going even when the path wasn’t clear.
What excites me most is the evolution — growing into spaces where I once felt like I had to prove myself and now walking in them with confidence. I’ve built my career on discipline, adaptability, and authenticity. I believe in long-term growth over overnight success.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency beats motivation. You won’t always feel inspired, but if you stay committed, results follow. I’ve also learned that setbacks aren’t failures — they’re training grounds.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I represent duality: strength and softness, authority and artistry, ambition and elegance. My story is about perseverance, transformation, and refusing to shrink in spaces I worked hard to enter. I’m building something that lasts — not just a moment, but a legacy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my friends come to my city, I love giving them the real LA experience—not what you see on TV. I take them to my childhood spots for the full experience. I don’t usually have a set plan because the best things just happen, and we go where the energy takes us. We’ll hang out at local lounges, grab brunch at some amazing Black-owned spots, hit a few clubs, and just explore. I love showing them the interesting parts of LA you don’t see unless IFYKYK.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to everyone who has ever supported me and guided me along the way. Whether it was the “right” path or a lesson learned, every experience helped shape me. A special thank you to those who have helped guide me through this smooth journey of modeling and acting — for the kind words, the connections, and the belief in me.
Everyone who has been part of my journey has supported and encouraged me in their own unique way, and I truly appreciate it. Thank you to everyone who kept me going.
