We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesus Arambula Aka “Peewee” and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jesus, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I think the legacy I want to leave is simple! First that a ball can change the world , second that always trust God and the process and lastly that if I can do it ! You can as well , all you need is to take that leap of faith and follow your dreams what ever that may be.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Hi my name is Jesus Arambula better known as Peewee in the scene ! I am a Street soccer advocate . I have been involved in the game since end of high school so around 2004-2005 but always love to play different always looking for loopholes in the game , thinking outside the box was always my advantage in the game. After a few years I started my “brand “ street crew with some of my closest friends and we began our journey together with the ball , little by little people came in and out of our street crew but definitely the people that stayed were the passionate ones and also the ones that love our sport as much as I do. Our mission was always influence the eleven aside game in the U.S because we saw it to mechanical and without color , the sport has taken us all around the globe and we have met our idols and visited places that we would only dream of , for example, we participated in the 2016 world street 3’s the street soccer version of the World Cup. We have worked with some of the biggest brands in the world and we have even been part of some music videos and for that we are for ever grateful. We have also helped developed and keep coaching children of all ages and we have seen the future of our sport. Now our goals is to reach as many youth players as possible from every background one neighborhood at a time. We also believe that all you really need is a ball and nothing more ! Once you built a relationship with the ball everything else falls into place, in life or on the pitch.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love to play in Long Beach , Hawthorne and DTLA but we also love to eat local street food weather is tacos in DTLA or Buffalo Spot in Long Beach but definitely when someone from Europe comes over we hit street tacos for sure it’s just what we do
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think the people who deserve credit is my street soccer family specially Edward Van Gils my family and the people who believes In me.
