We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Klee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jill, what do you attribute your success to?
We aren’t just a craft studio; we are an experience. I believe being an experience is the success behindg my brand, Yes, we help people make beautiful home decor that they will love to display but it is more important that they have an amazing experience while making those crafts. I love the fact that my customers have become my friends because of the environment we’ve created. Our goal is not to have you come in, make a project and leave, Our goal is for you to have a place to unwind, relax and enjoy some quality time with friends; it’s just an added bonus that you leave with a beautiful handmade craft!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
If the world could know anything about my story, I would want them to know that anyone can start over. They can recreate who they are and what they want in life. I had always wanted to be in Law Enforcement. Being a police officer was my identity for 15 years; it’s all I knew, it’s what I loved. But sometimes our stories don’t go as planned. Sometimes life throws you twists that you didn’t want. At 40 years old, I found myself a single mom without a career, without a plan. I knew nothing about running a business, let alone a craft studio. I took a chance; I stepped out into faith and started a new path. A path that has had a serious learning curve and many setbacks. My story feels a lot like my customers sometimes; many come into my studio and think they can’t do it; they don’t feel confident because they’ve never done it before. But all it takes is for them to trust the process, follow the steps and the outcome is something they are proud of.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely spend a lot of time at my studio crafting!! But trips through Hollywood and other iconic spots would be necessary!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am a woman of strong faith and I believe all my credit of success goes to Jesus. In a three-week span in 2020, I medically retired from Law Enforcement and also found myself hurled into an unplanned divorce. To say I was a mess was an understatement. I had never run a business, nor had I ever thought about running a business. I truly believe that Jesus put my business in my path to save me. I didn’t want to be stripped of everything I knew but I like to say that Jesus pushed me off a cliff (because I definitely didn’t jump!) and made me fly!
