We had the good fortune of connecting with Jose Roberto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jose, what is the most important factor behind your success?
We believe in thinking differently! By using technology, we inspire homebuyers to write their families’ next chapter. As a Real Estate marketing company, we use state-of-the-art 3D technology to tell the story of a home. We quickly and accurately create and publish a digital twin of any space helping homebuyers find their next home while shopping online.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Expressing myself through art has always been a part of my life. Being creative was only natural as I had great influencers all around me, my Mother and Grandfather especially. My mother dabbles in everything while my late grandfather loved music. As a kid, I enjoyed sketching and painting. I even got my “15 minutes of fame” as an eight-year-old when I entered an art contest in my elementary school that led my painting to be showcased at the Griffith Park Observatory. Through art, I paid my respects to Christa McAuliffe, an American teacher who lost her life in 1986 during the NASA space shuttle Challenger disaster. I painted a portrait of the shuttle rising towards the heavens with a silhouette of her face in the plume from the thrusters. This caught the attention of my community and only propelled my passion for the power of art. As an adult, my medium turned to Photography. Snapping shots of cars and landscapes were the norm. This passion nurtured by my family blended well when one day when my wife asked me to help her. Two years ago, while helping my wife do some research for her industry, she’s a Realtor, I quickly realized there has not been much change in marketing homes for sale despite all the advances of the internet. Shortly after helping her, I quickly transitioned into researching how to move the ball forward with photography and technology. This led me to 3D photography and the enormous opportunity within the Real Estate market, this was a perfect place for me to be. Today, my photography helps families write their next chapter while shopping for a home. I get a great deal of gratification in knowing my team and I were a part of families’ first home, next home, or their forever home.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in Los Angeles allows for unique opportunities to explore an area full of diversity and charm. If my friend came to visit, we could visit the obvious: beaches, mountains, and all things in between. Whatever you fancy, Los Angeles will deliver! Eat, Pray, and Love (no, not the movie)! For me, growing up in Los Angeles, some of the most iconic places were born from experiences that were never planned. Eat: La Playita, a tiny taco “Stand” in Venice CA. As a kid, my family brought home tacos. As an adult, tacos brought home the family. If you ever want to enjoy great conversation with those you love under a starry night while enjoying the best taco ever, visiting La Playita is a must while in Los Angeles. Pray: Los Angeles has many beautiful churches, their architecture is inspirational and a marvel. While I practice my faith daily and attend church regularly, my favorite place to give thanks for all my blessings is found on the sands of Santa Monica Beach. With the kaleidoscope of colors bursting from the Pier in the background, the peace I have found while sitting on the cool sand on a warm night, enjoying the slow soothing sounds of the waves crashing is unlike anything else. A must even when things are good! Love: Feeling love and sharing love is good in any city. I think it is especially good in Los Angeles. It’s where my heart is and where I met my wife. We met on the beaches of Santa Monica, not a coincidence, it was fate having just spent 4 years in Las Vegas. Los Angeles is romantic. The beauty of nature, culture, and weather is electric, and making a lifelong connection in Los Angeles is a Blessing. Yes, these places existed before me and I hope they will be around well after me.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
While I am honored to have benefited from many business mentors throughout my life, the most impactful were experiences I had as a teen. The guidance from my high school business teacher Teri J. (Santa Monica High School, Santa Monica, CA), and that of my first boss Tom C. at a local oil change spot in Santa Monica are top of mind and heart. Their leadership and guidance influence me today, 20+ years later. Grateful for all the support I have received over the years from many great entrepreneurs, I am most Blessed by one: My Father’s! I know that sounds cliché, but I was lucky because he was exceptionally good at being a Dad and a Business mentor. My Father was a loud Marine Drill Instructor turned business owner. Despite his 6-foot towering stance and constant energy, his softest words often sounded the loudest. “Don’t worry about the money kid. Take care of the client and they will take care of you” he would say to me. “Do what you Love and do it Right” my Father would say. Everything else was second, especially the money. Values over Money was a hard concept to understand as a know-it-all teen. Being the owner’s kid, all I wanted to do was sit in the boss’s chair and be the Big Boss but my father always kept us focused made sure we never got too comfy. My friends often teased because of his Drill Instructor ways. I am sure I echoed them too as I wore a grumpy face many times when work came before play. I do not ware that grumpy face anymore. I am grateful for his “ways” now. My success is in direct result of my Fathers guidance: Give your Best and you will get the Best. His journey as an entrepreneur has led me to mine. I am doing what I Love, doing it Right and it has brought me tremendous success.
