We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh Zammit and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josh, what do you attribute your success to?
Perseverance has played a huge role in all of my successes. When writing or shooting a film, you are constantly bombarded with failure, disappointment and self-doubt. Sometimes it takes years to get a script or edit right, with endlessly finessing and reworking. It’s very tempting to give up and do something easier, but I believe the projects that have the most challenges and roadblocks are usually the ones I gravitate to. If I’m not second-guessing myself or questioning my entire existence during a project, I probably know it’s not that interesting of a thing anyway.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m not really a restaurant guy, but I appreciate a well-isolated diner booth. Swingers and even just a Denny’s. A walk up to Griffith Observatory, Forever Hollywood Cemetery, some beach in Malibu (away from the crowds). My favorite place to be is at home, I won’t lie.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shout out writer/director, Marc Furmie, who has helped guide me in the ways of filmmaking since I was a young teenager. Check out his production company Rezistor Studios based here in Los Angeles. https://www.rezistorstudios.com/
