We had the good fortune of connecting with Kassandra Carrettini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kassandra, how do you think about risk?
Risk is a very important element in the development of my career. It forces me to be in a space outside of my comfort zone, a space where life experiences happen. We can get too paralyzed by fear, instigated by the perfectionism inside of us that wants to have everything under control. We have to be willing to fail in order to succeed by pushing the limits of what we know. For that reason I am always making sure I take action, even when the fear is there, and I can see the positive impact that it has had on my career and life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I collaborate with creative minds; directors, choreographers, producers etc to find the right emotional imagery that will connect with their audience and get their message across. Most of my work is anchored around dance, as it was my physical form of expression and deep love when growing up as a child in Spain. Later on, I became a fine artist where I developed my visual and artistic skills while attending the university “Accademia Albertina de Belle Arti” in Turin, Italy. Today I merge both within my work, which gives me a unique perspective when creating dance films.

In the beginning I found it challenging to decide on what path to take, to find what art form works best for me. To have the courage to believe blindly in myself. To find what gifts I had to offer to the world. So I put myself out there and give myself the chance to experience. Sometimes you have to just start even if you don’t know exactly where you are going, and the information will come to you as you advance and grow.

Meeting a lot of creatives pursuing their dreams while living in LA and all the support from my loved ones helped me solidify the reality I wanted to create for myself. But mostly, I realize I am fully responsible for intentionally bringing happiness to my life, for creating what my heart deeply desires, and that I can achieve everything I put my mind to.

Having the right mindset, and taking action is helping me manifest the life and career I want for myself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Los Angeles is a city full with amazing spots to visit, take pictures and film videos. From beautiful nature hikes in Topanga and spectacular beaches like Zuma beach, to impressive cityscapes in Downtown.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am grateful to have my amazing husband by side as he has been an inspiration during my journey. Seeing him grow his own business has pushed me to work hard on my dreams, and fully see how it is possible to create your own reality. I am also thankful to my friends and clients, who believe in the artist inside me and give me the opportunity to create together.
