We had the good fortune of connecting with Keshroy Spencer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keshroy, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My balance changed ever so slightly due to various operations of my mobile app needing more attention than others. During the beginning of our project, I understood how to perform certain operations as it pertains to the music and entertainment community. However, as time went on I needed to further my understanding of the cause and effect of varying features our platform presents.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m most proud of how MuzNet “the gig-booking mobile app” has come together. Although it has been a rather rough journey, I’m proud of how everything has worked out. Throughout the years, I’ve had many mentors giving me advice on how to best go about doing business, as well as life experiences, lessons, and prayers, all of which have helped me get where I am, not to mention disappointment after disappointments. However, due to my no-quit attitude and my loved one’s help, I’ve persevered to a place where I can be happy but not content. Reflecting on this app-developing journey has been everything but easy. Doing something I’ve never done before is quite scary. In fact, prior to thinking about a mobile app, I knew nothing about designing or developing a Gig-booking mobile app. So during the idea phase, there was a lot of research. Even after meeting the team tasked with bringing my idea to fruition, there was a lot of trial and error, not by choice but due in large part to I didn’t know any better. Over time though, I learned to delegate the workload and find those who were experts in various fields to help point me in the direction of understanding business ops, legal jargon, psychology of users, etc. Among many things, I’ve learned is it’s ok to fail because through failure we learn to excel at any given task. Because you’ve failed it doesn’t mean you’ve not succeeded, it just means you’ve not yet arrived. so don’t be afraid to fail, because that was the one thing I tried my best was not to fail. One thing I’d like the world to know about our brand and story is that were a group made up of mainly musicians who would like to pay it forward and help shape our community by providing much need resources and connections no matter anyone’s location.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were to visit, we’d hang out at all the performing arts venues, visit the rocky steps, go to top golf, and of course, we have to go to a sports game. Philly is so reached in history and tradition I’d make it a point of history to be fully immersed in the music scene.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shout out to everyone who helped me along the way, even when I thought I didn’t have any more to give. My parents for investing in a project they believed in from day one. My co-founders Keshaun, Shawn, Austin, Nevin, Dave, Sam, Petagaye, and Jerry. I remember coming to them about an idea and how it would greatly benefit our community giving us an opportunity to pay it forward and do just what we’ve always wanted to help shape our community. Most importantly, my beautiful wife Kenichia who’s always allowed me to see the bigger when there were times I felt as though I couldn’t find the silver lining in all the experiences good, bad, or in between, the late nights of being up, and the time needed to clear my head to see what’s really important. And above all praying about everything and worrying about nothing, trusting God will make a way because if he brought me to it, he’ll surely bring me through it.
