We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Davi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kevin, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think that the main factor that has allowed me to be successful is flexibility. When I first set out to work for myself as an independent physical therapist and healer, I had this grand idea of being the physical therapists that all the yogis would go to. But I remained open to see what the market dictated and to see what people were really asking for. When I stopped to listen, I was able to pivot my game plan and give people what they wanted in a way that felt in alignment with who I wanted to be as a healer and professional.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business specializes in in-home physical therapy treatments. I don’t believe that a noisy or crowded clinic is always the best environment for your body to heal in, so I bring it to you. All treatments are provided one on one with my full attention to you and your treatment protocol. In this way we can address the body, the mind and the spirit rather than just looking at a knee or an elbow. Mindset and approach plays a huge role in your healing process.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would love to bring a friend to Ecstatic Dance LA. They host ecstatic dance parties on the beach where you can really just let loose and free yourself through movement and dance. And no trip to the west side would be complete without time at the beach and cruising up to Malibu to get lost in the canyons for a day.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I give a lot of credit to a former partner of mine, Abby Oliver. At the time I was managing a Physical Therapy Clinic in Santa Monica. I worked a ton of hours and was compensated well but was running someone else’s business. I didn’t have a lot of input on how it was run. She opened my eyes to the reality that my techniques and treatments were the product that made the clinic successful. She helped me realize that I could do that for myself rather than for someone else, and I will forever be grateful for that amazing gift.
