We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristina Li and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristina, what do you want people to remember about you?
My outlook on life was heavily influenced by my health being stripped away at a young age unexpectedly. It made me realize how fleeting life can be and that each day of life should be treasured. I haven’t yet figured out exactly what I would want my legacy to be. But whatever it manifests into, I hope it will be a positive influence and guide people to live their life to the fullest. I’m just an ordinary person like anyone else. And there is nothing wrong with being ordinary. But being ordinary does not mean incapable of doing extraordinary things. Every person you meet, conversation you have, idea you have, etc should be seen as an opportunity that could make your life more fulfilled. I hope when those who knew me hear my name that they remember someone who was a caring friend and supportive confidant. That I created a safe space where any one could share anything, never be judged, and never feel alone. I want my name to be associated with a sense of warmth in their hearts. I want to be remembered as someone who made a difference.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I started my business Jumpstart Nutrition in 2017, I was heavily focused on it being a nutrition-centered practice. I felt this was my way into the wellness and health space because I could use my credentials as a Certified Nutrition Specialist and my healthcare experience working as a pharmacist. I am proud that I was able to launch this business while working as pharmacist and other side gigs. It was definitely not easy to balance everything. But I kept my long-term goal in my mind so I always remembered what I was working towards. However, with the 2020 pandemic, I’ve had to put my business on hold as I was pulled in to work more shifts at the hospital. And on my days off, since I was limited to my home, I had a lot of time to think about everything. Currently, I’m in the process of changing the focus of my business. I’ve changed the name to Healing Blueprint and I want it to encompass many aspects of wellness including physical, mental, and spiritual.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles is an amazing city and there are so many things you can do based on your interests. Since I’m a huge foodie, going out to eat is a must! I love finding places that aren’t necessarily hyped up in the major food blogs. A few of my favorite spots are: Tar & Roses, Takuma, Savoy Kitchen, and Guisados. There are so many beautiful sights to see in LA too! Here are a list of things I’d recommend: – Beaches: El Matador, Zuma, Leo Carrillo State Beach – Museums: The Getty, LACMA – Hikes/Trails: Malibu Creek State Park, Runyon Canyon, Eaton Canyon, Escondido Canyon, Griffith Park – Gardens: Huntington Library, Descanso Gardens, The Getty – Architecture/Landmarks: Bradbury Building, Hollyhock House, Greystone Mansion, Griffith Observatory
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m very fortunate that my family and friends have always supported me in everything I do even when I doubted myself. I would like to make a special shoutout to my husband for always being by my side.
