We had the good fortune of connecting with Lawrence Lanoff and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lawrence, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Happiness is an emotion that acts as a short term motivator. It’s a bit like watching a beautiful sunset. It’s important that we learn to live in our experience and share those lived-in experiences with other people we love. It’s essential that we focus on the things that make us happy. Focus leads inner experience.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Because of my chaotic childhood, to stabilize my life, I taught myself meditation at 10. I had the good fortune to meet a tantra master when I was 11 years old. I began teaching adults and kids what I was learning. Soon, I had my own practice. What I’m most proud of is how my work has evolved over the last 20 years. I’m currently known as a Master of Clarity. My goal is to energize, enlighten, and empower human self-actualization. Including sexuality, meditation, and clearing out the closets of our past. I run a modern-day mystery school that teaches all the things we should have learned in school but didn’t. My mission is to LEAD PEOPLE out of inhibition, taboo, guilt, and shame. and into the power of clarity, freedom and empowered self expression, so that they can have what they want. Better relationships. Better sex. More money. More energy to do what you want. The path of self-awareness is definitely not easy, but it is so necessary.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love taking my friends to experiences with breathtaking views. The malibu coast is a favorite. Also, I love the views of Hollywood from up in the hills. Anyplace where we can have vision, clarity and perspective allow us to be more of who we are. Clarity is the path to longevity, happiness and well being. Paradoxically, I love burned out, abandoned industrial spaces. They also offer perspective on not taking anything too seriously.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I will dedicate my shoutout to Metal. An organization of exceptional men helping to transform the world. Also, my mom, who during CoVid, has been willing to have the difficult conversations about my childhood.
