We had the good fortune of connecting with Leah Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
While teaching 2nd grade at a charter school, I realized that teaching in a school setting was no longer fulfilling. I wanted to have a bigger impact on children’s well-being, education, and safety. Also, to ensure children and their parents’/guardians ’ lives balanced. As a result, in 2020, I decided to pursue my dream and create Kiddos on The Go.

Creating Kiddos On The Go allotted me the opportunity to continue to educate and mentor children without being in a classroom. I was able to educate on my terms and use my psychology and education background. Educating children is more than teaching a lesson plan, it’s focusing on their well-being, emotional health, mental space, and home environment.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What sets us aside from other educational services is we are a one-stop-shop for kids. We provide tutoring, nanny, daycare, and transportation services. We serve as a parent’s proxy.

I’m most proud of starting this company during a pandemic. At the most difficult time in America, I remained resilient, driven, and focused. Don’t get me wrong it was the most challenging thing I’ve ever done but, it was well worth it. So no, it wasn’t easy but, I feel like if I can make it through a pandemic, I can make it through anything. Over the past two years, I’ve learned that success and your clientele do not come overnight. Also, not to be so hard on me and never doubt myself.

I want the world to know that I created Kiddos On The Go with kiddos’ well-being, education, and safety in mind. We are a safe and reliable company, we equip kiddos for academic success, and we guarantee to keep parents/guardians’ lives more balanced and on track.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would suggest checking out Culver City, Long Beach, and Santa Monica.

In Culver City, grab drinks at Bar Bohemien at Citizen Public Market and dinner at Rush Street or Meet in Paris.

In Long Beach, hang out at the pier and visit the Long Beach Aquarium.

In Santa Monica, visit the pier and enjoy the rides and games. Eat dinner at the Water Grill or Meat on Ocean and grab drinks at Elephante.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes, my fiance Jahmal Walker the CEO of Millennium Age.
