We had the good fortune of connecting with Lou Prime and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lou, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
Upon entering the music industry, I knew that the road ahead would be tough in terms of breaking through. During the journey, I realized that my passion for writing and creating melodies is what drew me towards this dream. I would say the end goal is not to become a pure artist but to become an acclaimed songwriter known throughout the industry. As a result, I have been writing and performing songs that are outside of my niche to hone my writing versatility.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Lou Prime is a rapper, singer, and songwriter. The real specialty is being able to connect. My music is more than just vibrations, but an actual vibe that people can identify with. I am most proud of the sound that I am developing. I think that the lyrical nature of my content, while still maintaining that ‘bounce’ sets me apart from others. The world should know that with every song, there is a story. Stories being the communal currency of the world, I make a conscious effort to make all of my listeners rich.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For someone visiting LA for the first time, I would definitely encourage them to visit the coastal beach cities for fun and food on the water, weather permitting. I would recommend the iconic Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. I would also recommend Downtown/Hollywood for the various tours, history, and museums. I would place more emphasis on visiting the Arts District and Little Tokyo for a more cultural experience. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would dedicate my shoutout to my late grandmother. She was my first fan and taught me what it means to persevere through adversity. As a mother of 12 children, she had a drive about her that I only hope to reach one day. I would say that my overall work ethic is greatly attributed to her.
