Meet Louis David: Chainstitch Embroiderer & Utopian Mechanic

I offer Custom Chainstitch Embroidery that is fabricated with the same hand driven machines that operated throughout the XXth century. The personality of the embroiderer shows in his craft, and I figured Utopia had enough to offer to stand out, so I continued in California what I had started in France.

How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy If not, how did you overcome the challenges? Well, how do you get info on a craft when you cant’ find information, even on Google. I personally purchased a machine I didnt know how to use or set up, and had to learn everything by myself. There were times where the machine would fail and I would have to fix something or figure it out, and my experience grew as my mastery developed. You have to be tenacious, but when passion is by your side, it helps overcoming certain obstacles.

I would probably tour my friend on the back of my motorcycle all around LA, and of course hit the beach at some point, but also the mountains. Another thing this week would involve is Tacos and Modelos

Well, this list could go on but I ll start by giving a major shout out to all the people that follow my embroidery project and support it. Also shoutout to creative director Yorgo Tloupas for staying young and sharp, it’ s all very inspiring, and to fellow maker Zana Bayne, who manufactures all her items by herself in her LA studio, and manages to run her business successfully too; it’s been awesome to get to know you.
