We had the good fortune of connecting with Love Vi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Love Vi, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Every day is an opportunity, and each decision we make will have an effect on our lives. When making a decision I like to consider the micro and macro perspectives. Although I love details and planning, it really boils down to having the faith and confidence that the outcome is going to be alright. The many times I’ve been able to leap and go forth with some major decisions is my ability to lean on faith, believing in myself, and trusting my intuition. It helps to know at the end of the day, I will always bounce back because I am not a quitter, and I will always try my best to become better.
Being a creative and independent artist, working on my Debut EP, Love Vi, has allowed me to challenge myself in trusting the process and expressing myself authentically. Putting music and art out can be a vulnerable experience, but I’m a true believer that hard work and consistency will always pay off. Knowing one’s self completely and what you stand for is so underrated, yet so helpful with the process, and life in general.
If you’re thinking about taking a risk, I say go ahead and be great now as we are not promised tomorrow. Bring those dreams and goals to fruition because they are within you for a reason, and part of the reward is finding out exactly why.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Super excited to share my art and music with everyone. I am an independent artist working on my EP titled, Love Vi. I decided to title it such because I want to share a piece of who I am and what I represent. I feel we all can use more love, and this is what the project is based on. It’s not all on the romantic kind either, as the world encompasses so many other types of love. It’s all about the good vibes and feels for me!
I first started singing in choir when I was a kid and that gave me a good ear for music and vocal techniques. Later in college I studied music and found myself intrigued with the recording process and learned the basics of audio engineering and production. Years later, after living good ol’ life, I am diving back into creating music as a singer/songwriter. It’s true what they say, what is meant to be will always find you.
Another creative side of me is creating artwork with paint, and mixed media. I’ve always loved the freedom and therapy of painting. Currently working on some installment pieces and events to get this party started.
As much as I like making things and bringing ideas to life with music and art, I’ve dug a bit deeper, as to why. My impact is so important to me. I hope to spread positivity, love, and inspiration in any way possible. The fact that this can be accomplished through these mediums fuels me to keep going and keep believing that we can create a better world, a better experience.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely plan to do some adventurous hikes like Sandstone Peak and Los Liones Trail, and beach runs in Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach. Griffith’s Observatory, The Santa Monica Pier, Universal Studios, The Getty Center, and Disney is a must for me, as well. I like to try new things and not a picky eater, so the food options I love googling and showing up. Although, I might have to add the Japanese vegan restaurant Shojin to this lientery, and Nic’s on Beverly for some plant-based eats.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shoutout another SoCal creative who’s name really says its all, Nettwork. He just dropped the EP, Bautumn Lyne. This hip-hop album captures the hustle it takes to meet your potential and the bottom line of each goal, working collectively aka networking, and determination. Super dope!
Bautumn Lyne is available on all platforms. Nettwork is tremendously talented, and his music stays on my playlist with his vibrant lyrics, flow, and West Coast vibes. I know you’ll be hearing his name more and more, including on my very own EP, Love Vi.
