We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucy Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lucy, what inspires you?
I’m inspired by spreading joy. I do that best with my art.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I decided to take Persephone’s Jewels to the next level after realizing I could make women happy through my art. I provide identity coaching inspired by the Greek goddesses. This involves personalized coaching sessions and astrology & tarot readings, all corresponding to each area of life, expressed through the filters of the 7 goddesses I work with: Aphrodite, Athena, Artemis, Demeter, Hera, Hestia, and, of course, Persephone. For example: Hera is the goddess of marriage, so in her module we look at relationship goals. Similarly, Athena is the goddess of war and strategy, so in her module we look at career goals. I want women to be unafraid to center themselves in their lives and to become wholly unfettered in expression that feels right FOR THEM– not for their partner, not for their kids, but for themselves. Having a well-rounded life, that is, activating all of the 7 goddesses in your life, is the way I help women to be their most fulfilled.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Supposing COVID isn’t a factor, I’d take them to Disneyland (of course!). I’d also show them some of the local haunts, including my favorite shops (The Crooked Path in Burbank, for example) and restaurants (Rincome Thai in Granada Hills, Din Tai Fung in Glendale). I’d also bring them to a meeting of the LA Tarot Fanatics, run by my friend Vickie Wilson, who gives awesome, thought-provoking lectures on esoteric wisdom in tarot. Finally, Leo Carrillo Beach in Malibu!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, I’d like to shoutout RISE Leadership Circle by Kaela Gedda and Lisa Liimatta, who are amazing at mindset work. The community of my sisters in “MAYA” by Julie Serot (The Dharma Circle) has been invaluable at providing me with some much-needed (and missed!) support from those around me. And thank you to Brandy Middleton, with whom I made huge breakthroughs during our sessions together.
