We had the good fortune of connecting with Lus Linda Juarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lus Linda, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to pursue a creative career because I’ve always been passionate about arts and crafts since I was a little girl. I enjoy inventing and crafting my own ideas. My biggest inspiration was my mother, as I would watch her make clothes for my siblings and I. At the age of 10, I then took the initiative to learn how to sew on my own, and started creating clothing and accessories for my dolls. Ever since then, my passion for arts and crafts has continued to expand.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Lynda’s Creations is a small business inspired by our delicious Mexican pan dulce, specifically the “Conchas”. I have different products inspired by Conchas including pillows, keychains, and goody bags, etc. Additionally, I make customized products and offer wholesale prices. I also make hair accessories, such as head wraps and bows, made from traditional Mexican fabrics. But my most popular products would definitely have to be the Concha Minnie ears headbands, and the Concha pillows.
What sets my business apart is the passion and dedication I have towards each, and every thing, that I do. I always try to make sure I add my own personal touch to everything I create. One of the things that I’m most excited about is seeing my customers happy about the products they purchased, and seeing their social media posts. I get inspired to create more products when I see their reactions, and seeing that I was able to bring a little bit of joy to the people who love our culture.
This journey has not been easy and it has taken a lot of time and effort. I have always wanted to have my own business, and for it to be something that I enjoyed doing. That is why I continued to pursue crafting as it was something I took an interest in and had skill with.
Something that I have learned along the way is that having perseverance and not putting your dreams to the side will one day have its reimbursement. Something that I believe in is that you should not waste time seeing what everyone else is creating, but instead use that time and see what you can create. I would like everyone to know that everything that I do, I do it with love and dedication. Lynda’s Creations has a lot more ideas and products on the way, which I”m confident that my customers will like.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my best friend to Crystal Cove Beach, Big Bear, and the Huntington Library in Pasadena, as these places are relaxing, calm, and revitalizing. For lunch, I would prepare my famous and delicious fish tacos, as I enjoy cooking. For dinner, we will go eat mariscos at Sushi Loco, as it brings back memories from my hometown of Sinaloa. For dessert, we would go have ice cream, specifically raspados, and also get some sweet and spicy Mexican treats at Loteria Candy Co, located in Chino, CA. Finally, we can’t miss out on an exciting Dodger’s game.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shout out to my daughters and my husband as they have given me so much love and support throughout this journey, they have helped me with ideas, give me helpful feedback, and assist me with my business.
