We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Seril and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
My greatest inspiration has been my awesome parents Alando & Felicidad Seril. Both immigrants from the Philippines, they came to this country to establish a better life for their family. Their willingness to sacrifice so much for my sister and I has been my greatest motivation to succeed not just in my professional career but also to become the best person I can be. There’s not a day that goes by that I forget and I make sure that all their sacrifices and hard work did not go to waste.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My fitness business Michael Seril Fitness Studio was established in 2005 in the city of Whittier, Ca. We are the only business in the city of Whittier that has been awarded Business of Year 2x one from the Whittier Chamber of Commerce and the other from the 57th District of California. Our fitness studio has been featured on local news such as KTLA, KABC & KCAL 9x in the last 15 years. What we are most proud of is our MSF PAY IT FORWARD Initiative over the past 15 years. During this time, we have raised & donated over 150,000 pieces of food, toys, clothing, fitness & PE equipment to local elementary schools and non profit organizations. We have donated thousands of dollars through sponsorships and donations to various non profit organizations. Over the last 15 years, MSF has trained, motivated, educated and inspired over 3,000 private clients and bootcampers in the city of Whittier. We will continue to provide the best and safest fitness service in our city.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shout out to my awesome parents. My mom & dad has been my greatest fan, biggest motivator and supporter all my life. All of my accomplishments both personal & business has been because of my parents. They instilled in me at a very young age to always work hard, always finish what you start, to never be afraid of failure, to adapt to every situation and to pay it forward to less fortunate individuals. These lifelong lessons has been my motto my whole life and it has earned me many awards & accolades but more importantly, I’ve been able to help thousands of people in my community. My parents are my hero and I feel very fortunate and honored to be their son.
