We had the good fortune of connecting with Mogul Marz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mogul, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?

Marz states, “I feel like being a creative choice me. As far as how I go about being a creative is honesty based off my personality type. I tend to get bored with things easily, thus resulting in why I wear many hats.
Music production started simply as a hobby I always found an interest in, then turn into almost a form or way to cope with day-to-day life. Almost a sense of peace, identical to a rapper documenting his life or thoughts, my approach is very similar when it comes to how I produce music, and the vibe being a direct result of that.
Videography/ Photography, Graphic Design, Creative Directing, Merch & Apparel, etc was my way of continuing to be in a creative space, but giving me the opportunity to network and bring others visions to life. Also was a means to cut out the middleman when it comes to content creation as we live in a digital based era.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being different is subjective based off what one’s norm is, but one thing I can say sets me aside from any other is how I can be a chameleon and adapt in any environment and play any role.

Anyone who has entrepreneurial endeavors will tell you entrepreneurship is not easy. Everything is fully funded by oneself, and like you hear all the time, with entrepreneurship you’re going to have really great months/ years and sometimes you may not so I feel as if money allocation and time spent is the most important things.

Most excited about this album PRSTNE will be dropping at the end of the year and merch we have in store for the brand. As well as partnership and collaboration we have set with other people and brands.

Lastly as far as advice, to reiterate, if you have the capital or resources to cut off the middle man to do that. Will save money and hassle on the back end of things. Also preaching there’s no blueprint to being a creative. You can be inspired, but just do what you love and what feels good to you and everything else will fall in place as should as cliche as that sounds.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you are a homie of mine you know I’m very simplistic. Studio is a must, and as far as food, my diet honestly consist of lemon pepper wings (extra crispy) and tacos.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost my family. I am nothing without my family, and anyone who knows me know how passionate I am about the concept of family. They are literally my backbone and the epitome of who Marz is today. The way I move, the way I talk is nothing but a reincarnation of my pops and grandfather. Feel like my need to always help and be a service to others is the foundation set from my mother.

Second Shoutout has to go to the lifestyle brand & collective I’m apart of by the name of PRSTNE (Pristine).
