We had the good fortune of connecting with Nathan Greaux and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nathan, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from the heart of New Orleans, La where music is such a dominant part of our culture, I derived my passion of music from being around it so prominently.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Singer-Songwriter based in both New Orleans, La, and Los Angeles, Ca. I am most proud at the moment to announce the upcoming release of my debut album “Bloom”. From singing background at many New Orleans events and concerts to singing all across the U.S., the road taken to get where I am today was not an easy one, but I always find a way to preservers through words of encouragement given to me by my mentors and group of friends. I’ve learned that as long as you are willing to be humble and “coach-able” enough to listen to sound wisdom, you will always be able to succeed no matter what industry you desire to work in. Being an entrepreneur and an artist is not always an easy journey, but the one thing that I take pride in is that I am always willing and available for my community and willing to serve and help those around me to become better in their crafts and in their personal lives.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve always been a home body, but my favorite places to go would be the ones that I’ve had the best memories in. Places like, Flower Child in Santa Monica, or like The Mint LA. for some good music (like back at home) or like visiting The Broad Museum or Chinatown!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Edward West Sr. has to have been the most influential character in my childhood development. The late Edward West Sr. was a part of the multi-award-winning group “Collage” and was a key influencer in the One Vision One Voice organization to which I was recruited and became involved with at an early age. It was his teachings that guided me to working hard to perfect my gift which eventually lead to me becoming more active as a singer and musician. To say that he was my only mentor would be an injustice to the magnitude by which he served his community, his friends, and his family.
