We had the good fortune of connecting with Olugbenga Osikomaiya and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olugbenga, how do you think about risk?
Risk is an important part of growth. For me the most growth has happened outside of my comfort zone. there is also the idea of the bigger the risk the bigger the reward so the more out of your comfort zone you go the closer you could be getting to what you want is how i think about it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m still learning and growing every day with every new project which is something i love about what i do as it’s encouraged so i don’t know what my work will look like in the future but i’m always open to the new.

It’s important to be able to embrace change and trying new things in the name of experimentation and hopefully growth the familiar will always be there to call on. Something i’m still learning and putting into practice.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
eat: Bo Daddys BBQ some of the best bbq LA has to offer and a small black owned business.

drink: Probably grab a-lot of boba

Places and people: everywhere and everything love how wide La is with so many different parts

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Lots i’ve been lucky durning the pandemic to join multipole communities of cinematographers that mostly meet only chat, provide references for each other as far as crew, work and feed back, its been amazing and so important to be a part of these groups makes what we do feel less lonely and isolating.

Also having the collective experience of people much wiser than you and with way more experience is always so important.
