We had the good fortune of connecting with PAX&Q and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi PAX&Q, why did you pursue a creative career?
As an artist you document your truth. Whether it’s a specific time period you capture because you live in it or the way you feel in a certain moment. The cool thing is, art in today’s age lasts forever. You transmit a wave signal which we can pick up with our eyes, ears, or any of the sensual receptors at any given time, even in the future. On a personal level, we both had very individual lifepaths but art is essentially what brought us closer together. We opened up an art space together and it allowed ourselves to explore and get to know each other even more. There is a beauty in creating art together because every piece is a journey. There’s the beginning which consists of an idea, preparation, planning, getting the stuff needed to create. The journey of creation which is full of trial and error applied with knowledge & skills. Then there is the final piece, the top of the mountain if you will, you look back and reflect on the journey and all the intention you put in. The feeling of looking at the final piece and knowing that we just did this together is just wonderful and makes us feel complete. Anyways, with art being our natural flow of expressing ourselves, it just makes sense for us to create art in order to have an impact on the world which lasts far beyond our human lives. We currently mostly create VideoArt which allows the observer to immerse into a different reality for a bit. Hopefully when you continue with your life afterwards you feel uplifted, more empowered and more at peace.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
How did we get here? Together. To back up a bit, when we opened up our art space together at 20 years old we had no idea that this is where it would take us. As best friends we both had dreams & goals but they were very individual. It’s funny to say but being in a relationship together was not one of our goals for example. One thing we did have in common was an underlying care, love and an understanding of ‘I got your back no matter what’. So we did have each other’s back and created dope art, in our individual worlds, together in our art space. Soon those individual worlds became one after we started teaching each other the skills we had. Pretty much every new skill from that point on we learned together which only made us grow more. By that time a beautiful relationship & business has formed effortlessly and naturally. Rather than to pursue our individual careers we decided to combine our dreams & goals and set new ones on the way. Today our goal is to help people feel their inner Peace & Royalty by providing a path for a new type of ‘relationship’. You know, at the end of the day we just represent the fact that you can do what you love with who you love. As far as VideoArt goes, through numerous co-creations with each other and other artists, over the course of these past few years, we have really developed a way to translate a vision with our own twist. One thing we always say is: “Take life in through all of your senses.. filter it through your heart.. then give back” so when it comes to art we do just that. To be honest it hasn’t always been easy but the experience of growing together and living life on three different continents has shaped our perspective quite uniquely. After putting years of work into deepening our roots, settling in Los Angeles feels like we finally get to flourish into the artists that we are today.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
After dropping the bags off at home, our first stop would be Pura Vita, a Vegan Italian Restaurant. There’re many seriously good restaurants in LA but undoubtedly this is our favorite. The next day we would most likely grab a camera and just take a tour through DTLA. First we’d hit up Little Tokyo for snacks and use the dope scenery to shoot memorable content. Everything else is only a matter of where the flow of creating takes us. After all, the arts district is walking distance from there. One specially dedicated day for the week would be a trip to Malibu. A few months ago we discovered this semi-private beach with beautiful rocks, caves, enough space to just be and get inspired and if you walk to the other side of the peninsula, there are a bunch of seals tanning on rocks, living their best life. For the other days, we would check out stuff we find on the internet together because it would be nice to have some first time experiences with our best friend in LA.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The shoutout goes out to everyone that has ever had a positive interaction with us. We only get so many moments to spend at the same place and time. Life has been our teacher on our journey so therefore a kind interaction is super encouraging. Also we need to shout out all the people that told us to ‘get together already’. With that being said, always pay attention to the signs life provides.
