We had the good fortune of connecting with Pixie Acia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pixie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly, I never started my own business to make money, I started it as a side passion project because I wanted to gift the same experiences I loved so much to the people I cared about, my clients, friends and family. I never thought “oh I’ll do this and one day leave my job and this will pay my bills” I just knew it fed my soul, fille dmy cup and created lasting bonds in the people who attended.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m an entrepreneur in the wellness space and believe that community is the new currency. I aspire to create deep meaningful connection in all of my offerings, both to oneself and to each other. I believe that the world needs wellness over fitness and that the true recipe for happiness is a trifecta of community, movement, and self love.

Whether we are in one of my classes or traveling for my Surf Sweat Serve retreats, we are focused on self awareness, heart coherence, a loving curious connection with our bodies, all while holding ourselves accountable for our emotions and mindset.

I’m most proud of the community of people I have called in and the hard but fun work we achieve together! The joy, the grit, the authenticity, the courage, the compassion, the realness; all create a profound experience whether it be a class or an week on retreat!

Time management and delegating tasks to someone else are probably my biggest challenges as an entrepreneur. Also, finding time to rest – WHAT”S THAT?! ūüėÜ

I feel like I am always against the clock and like there is always a laundry list of things to get done.
I’ve learned to ask for help, hire people better than you, and to make a todo list daily. Simple but effective!

After you’ve completed a task, yes check it off, but don’t erase it! Seeing your progress and half completed list of what you HAVE done makes all the difference in the world and is a reminder of your hard and that things are getting done.

My brand is inclusive and fun and YOU CAN SIT WITH US!!! ‚̧ԳŹ

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
we would go for a surf or a beach hang in Malibu, take a workout class or do a hike or the Culver City stairs, go eat at Great White, get dinner at Scopa or Belle’s and watch the sunset at the beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Super special shout out to everyone who ever hired me in the fitness space, to SoulCycle founders Julie Rice and Elizabeth Cutler, and to everyone who has ever taken any of my classes over the last 15 years. I’m so grateful to be surrounded by incredibly strong people who are both committed to their health and their mindset. I’m honored that thousands of people have trusted me to facilitate and hold the sacred space of self love, self awareness and self improvement!

My community is incredible and without them I wouldn’t be where I am today, so I owe a great deal of my success to them!
