We had the good fortune of connecting with Ponsée Saa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ponsée, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think risks are not only necessary for success, but for personal growth as well. The issue most people have is that they stay in their comfort zone. Comfort zones create and encourage complacency. Taking that risk, doing something that you wouldn’t normally do, something that scares you, can be so rewarding. You can learn something new about yourself in the process or even discover a new passion. It won’t ever be known unless that risk is taken first.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Career and work don’t look the same way they did 20 years ago. The idea of a traditional 9-5 being the best way to succeed has been replaced due to social media. People are creating their own companies, vlogs, cooking shows, etc that they wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do. I have so many interests and I’m ready to explore them and see how I can do it in a way that is positively impactful for people. It’s hard to figure out what you want to focus in on, you see so many different things daily on all social media platforms, so it’s not always easy to narrow down your focus to one thing – unless it’s something you’ve been passionate about. That’s really what I am working on now. I have 2 websites I am in the process of creating and I’m so passionate about these projects, I can’t wait until they’re completed and I can share them with everyone.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The best times and memories are created with the right people, not locations. With Covid cases still being pretty high, I would play it safe and cook an amazing meal at home, invite over a few close friends, and make some great memories there. Good food, good music, and good people – what more could a person want!
Alright, so let’s jump right in! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there a person, group, organization, book, etc. that you want to dedicate your shoutout to? Who else deserves a little credit and recognition in your story?
My mom and sisters are my foundation. They truly want me to be happy and succeed in anything I do. They’ve constantly shown me support and given me advice when I was working in a financial institution and they continued to do the same when I abruptly quit my job and wanted to try something new.
