We’re excited to introduce the folks from the POWOW.tv Show and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a creative, one keeps on finding outlets and community as well as collaboration in order to grow. As an artist you have fairly little control over the external circumstances and what happens to your career, besides the opportunities you create yourself. A little talk show is something that allows our team to keep our muscles flexed and to remain in a state of creative flux.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We feel we are creating a space where people, mainly comics, can share their humor and opinions without censorship and without political correctness. We are learning that of course, it is not easy, to keep going. Especially in the times of pandemic, when people cant even truly get together, it a challenge in and of itself to remain flexible and creative.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Soho House, for the view. can’t beat that. In general the well known hotspots may be a bit of a cliche, but it is for a reason. Chateau Marmont, Viper Room, The Standard… The lovely thing about LA is that it doesn’t take much time and you can literally be away from all glamour and business side of it, hiking the gorgeous trails. Or on a road trip to Palm Springs. For a healthy balance, one can split a week between the glamour and glitz of it all and the natural beauty that surrounds the City of Angels. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
100% this shoutout goes first and foremost to my editor, Alejandra Gonzales Catillo, who has been such a vital force in the shows execution and her skillset as well as personal work ethic had made it possible. And of course anyone who had given us their time, their talent and came to be interviewed as well as the viewers, who spent their time with us. Laura Arten, the host, who was the initial spark for this pursuit and who’s vision this is.
