We had the good fortune of connecting with Priscilla Moreno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Priscilla, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted a creative outlet; it’s crazy to say that about meat and cheese, but these charcuterie plates are pieces of art to me. There are so many elements that go into creating just one graze I think it’s an art to be able to make it both delicious and beautiful. Additionally, I find the most joy seeing others enjoy my charcuterie creations. My family and friends were the first to see my take on charcuterie and they were also a big push for me to start Grazes by the Details, it’s been almost a year since I started.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Grazes by the Details has been a whirlwind, an escape, something I didn’t know I needed. I have worked in the tech industry my entire career even moved to the central coast for my job but I always knew I wanted to start my own business, I just didn’t know what kind. Making charcuterie grazes for family and friends when they would come visit me in the central coast was normal, since it was wine country, but once I started making them here in LA for friends and family it brought back that joy I felt when someone would drive 4 hours to come see me. I get that same burst of adrenaline when I get an order, that excitement comes right back. Grazes by the details is currently my side project, but I spend every minute outside of my job working on improving it and ways to make it grow I am excited to see where I will be next year with GBTD. I aim to use local vendors by purchasing my produce at local farmers market and buying eco friendly products.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a Long Beach girl! My favorite spots to check out would have to be off 4th Street from the restaurants to the small shops. I also love hitting up the Bluffs off Ocean. There is always so much to do, but a perfect day would be brunch and drinks at Claire’s At the Museum or the Attic. A night out would be off Pine, or dinner at Padre and ending the night with drinks at Shannon’s.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family has really helped me through this entire start up. They hold the many hats that tend to slip when time is slipping away during an order. My dad is my main delivery man and my mom will jump in and close out my grazes when I am running short on time. I do have to give a shout out to the family and friends in my life who pushed me to start this business, and tag, share and give amazing referrals. Starting a business is not easy but it is all about the support system in your life.
