We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Ehrig and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Robert, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
First its important to understand what we do. We sell cosmetically distressed luxury appliance at 20 to 40% of price protected retails. with that said, most people think they can never afford to enjoy these high end kitchen appliances on normal wages. that is where we come in. raising the quality of life for more of the majority. If you have never used higher quality appliances, there is truly nothing like it.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started in the retail world in 1981 straight out of high school. sweeping floor and stocking shelves for Pier One Imports. after moving up in my home store from associate to assistant manger, I joined the manager trainee program and set out to start managing stores in several different cities in LA county and Ventura county. After opening two new locations for them, I decided to spread my wings and manage stores for Target, Linens n Things, Michaels, Joanns and Office Depot. As corporate retail became too cookie cutter for me, I met the Weiler brothers. It was hard leaving the retail sector at first from a compensation perspective, but I made a great decision. My quality of life and family life is WAY better.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
During these times, it hard to go anywhere. I would take them to myfavorite Sushi hole. out for a round of Golf. watch a movie or two visit local theme park and shopping mall visits with my family a lot.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is a family owned business founded by Marc Weiler and his brother Lee Weiler. Super smart business men who treat their employees like family.
