Meet Rock Jacobs | Writer, Director & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rock Jacobs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rock, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk Taking – this is the most important factor in becoming successful as an entrepreneur, soloprenuer, director, writer, anyone who is in the driver seat or wants to be in control of their own destiny has to be willing to take risks. I put it all on the line daily to achieve the results I want. There are massive wins at times, there are also times in which you don’t win, but you must push forward. If you are not willing to take risks you will never jump to the next level. You have to be willing to fail and willing to try again, not only in your career but in life.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have clients, friends and colleagues whom travel in from all over the world and they always ask this question. My answer is always HOLLYWOOD or BEVERLY HILLS. First you will need to stop over to BBCM (the Butcher Baker Cappuccino Maker) in West Hollywood and experience morning coffee/breakfast. From there (pre-covid) I would say you have to experience Equinox gym. A shake or smoothie at Earth Bar is a must, the atmosphere is unreal. My favorite lunch spot is AVRA in Beverly Hills. They have great outdoor seating for lunch. For dinner I would recommend PACE in Laurel Canyon, or Spago is my favorite in Beverly Hills for business dinners and just amazing ambiance. Another new place which most have yet to hear of but has fantastic latin food and epic drinks is Mirame or the rooftop at Hotel Sixty is great for a nightcap. If you really feel adventurous try my favorite speakeasy; The Roger Room in Hollywood.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give recognition to HRH Prince Azim of Brunei. He gave me a huge opportunity early on in my career. My first 7-figure production! A music video for a band he discovered from Malaysia “Dhask” whom eventually was signed to Sony Asia. The music video featured superstars like Marilyn Manson, JoJo, Bai Ling. It was a shoot to remember for sure. A very post apocalyptic Mad Max world we created in the desert with explosions, motorcycle chases and more. Marilyn Manson, Jo Jo and Bai Ling starred in the video, it was amazing to work with such great talent! HRH Prince Azim had a huge interest in my passion for storytelling and did not hinder my creativity ever. He was a great client and friend. We would go on to work on projects for the last 12 years until his recent passing.
