We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Bianchetti and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sara, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
One of the most important factors behind the success of our brand is handcrafting an enduring legacy rooted within the heart of downtown Los Angeles. People’s Choice Beef Jerky was founded by my great grandfather in 1929. Over 90 years and four generations, we’ve valued our history and resilient bonds to our LA roots and respect that we are truly a part of something larger than ourselves.
What should our readers know about your business?
We are LA’s original beef jerky company since 1929. We bring the old school to the new school. Our jerky is handcrafted in a family tradition that spans four generations and 90+ years in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. A tradition built on quality ingredients and a handmade process that delivers a better-quality, better-tasting, better-for-you jerky. Small batch, artisan-quality beef jerky delivered straight to the consumer’s door.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First and foremost we’d kick off the trip with a stop in downtown LA for a tour of the beef jerky factory! Other spots to checkout would be the views at Griffith Observatory, the Broad museum, and Grand Central Market. As I foodie, I’d make sure to stop at Philippe The Original for a juicy beefy French dip sandwich and Wurstküche for a meaty hot dog and a cold beer. Depending on the time of year, we’d make sure to attend a sporting event whether it be an LAFC, Dodgers, or Rams game. To finish off the trip with a sweet treat, we’d hit up the Pie Hole in the Arts District for a warm slice of apple pie. Mmmmmm.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Working for a small, family business is unique in that my mentors and role models are not only my coworkers, but also family members like my Dad and Brother. Through their leadership, guidance, and example I’ve honed useful skills towards my personal growth.
